I've heard him get stick at the ground and seen a lot of stick for him generally on here.

His touch isn't always the best and sometimes I think his brain is a bit ahead of his feet, but for a loan player (and with the stick that some loan players get), he ran his blood to water tonight. They were dirty throughout the whole game but he stood up to it physically and gave them an absolutely torrid time.

Held the ball up really well towards the end when we needed to hold on too.

Well played Chris - not sure why you get the stick you do from some that sit around me, but thought the effort you showed tonight was immense.

Has there been? Not really noticed - think he's done well while he's been here. Could maybe score a few more but his general play has been good

Really not a fan of loan players, as I've bored everyone to death with a million times, but O'Grady's application was fantastic tonight. He had a very difficult job up front on his own for long periods, but he continued to battle and battle and battle. Well done Chris.

Delap played well too, although he could have been sent off half a dozen times.

I agree Jay, I think it emphasises that not all loan players should be tarred with the same brush - O'Grady couldn't have worked harder tonight, put a serious shift in.

Definitely thought Delap should have been sent off just before he was substituted for foul on Lua Lua, but again, a no-nonsense player that put in as much effort as he could.

It was worth signing O'Grady if for no other reason than to annoy Wednesday fans.

He deffo puts in a shift but is just lacking quality. Needs work on his movement but then again the while team do! We are chuffin static up front. Nobody makes any runs or owt. All stood waiting for the ball to be played to them rather than giving te misfield an outlet.

He lead the line as well as you could hope for. I have been impressed with him so far. He is unlucky to not have a few more (2 keeper fouls denied him tap ins) but he does the spade work and not many chances fall to him.

Have you? - not seen or heard that myself but anyone who gives stick to O'Grady knows not what they are talking about imo. For a loan player he has showed real passion and commitment and has had in my opinion numerous good games. I really hope we keep him on.

I thought he was immense tonight. He took a lot of stick from an uncompromising (that's being polite) Brighton back four and gave them a torrid time.
Message to the miserable scouse git that is Dave Jones, thank you very much for Chris O'Grady. Hope the decision to loan him to us comes back to haunt you big style.
Special mention tonight also to Kelvin Etuhu, Rory Delap and Scott Wiseman. An overall terrific team performance though, against a good side.
Let's have more of the same on Saturday.
    COYR!!!!!

If he scores on the final day of the season to secure a win at Huddersfield that consequently sends Wednesday down in our place I don't think I'll stop laughing for a year. You can just imagine the Wendy's faces as news filters through of a stoppage time winner from O'Grady.

I wasn't to enamoured when he arrived but he has been gradually impressing me and tonight he was great. Fantastic commitment to what is really our cause, not his. His touch and close control is much better than I expected and he shields the ball as well as anyone at the club. I bet he's nursing some bruises tonight, he took some right welly, especially from their number 6 - the one who doesn't know how to take a throw in.

I ca see him signing in the summer.

so MR C genuine question here.
do you think the 4 strikers we have at the club now plus danny rose would be good enough to keep us in the championship next season.if we can keep them all that is.
pesonally i do just need more quality around them in defense and midfield.

I can't see them going anywhere. Someone might put a cheeky bid in for Dagnall, but Marlon and Scotland are with us because no-one else wants them, they're getting older while Danny Rose growing younger and dafter. We are a right motley bunch of misfits, it's like Police Academy at times. Still, beggars can't be choosers.

If we stay up this season then staying up next season will depend on getting enough points to stay up.

    He gets stick

purely because he played for the pigs. Some people forget that players are professional and play for whoever pays their wages. Currently that is us and he is giving everything for the club. I can't imagine that he's got any great affection or loyalty towards Wednesday.

Danny Wilson got the same treatment from some sections of the crowd when he came to Oakwell as player-coach.

    Get over it.

He did well at the end holding the ball up and to be fair I thought he had a good game last night.

Can see us calling him back towards the end of the season, probably after the loan deadline.
