A little, he has been in dreadful form of late and last night is the worst I've seen him. He didn't seem to have a clue at times. Maybe a "rest" so to speak will do him good. Also a mention for wiseman and kelvin, they were superb last night didn't put a foot wrong! I heard ppl round me slating wiseman all game, just shows he is the scapegoat for many fans. It gets my back up bigtime look at Luke Steele. Yes he saved a pen but his kicking and communication was piss poor last night why does he not get abuse like wiseman?? Anyway well done last night bfc!!
I thought Perkins had a good game. He did win MOTM. He got caught in possession once and sometimes held onto it too long but he's a class player. Our Messi.
Thought he had a decent game. Like already said, caught out of possesion a few times by turning players too often. Silly tug of the player could have resulted in a Red card. Was surprised the ref didn't to be fair.
Met up with my Brighton-supporting mate after the game for a beer. He and two other Brighton fans with him all thought Perkins was a bit special. S'all about opinions, innit?
Opinions eh. I thought Perkins ran the show for us in the first half, then when Brighton showed him more attention in the second half this gave TuTu the chance to get more involved and shine. Perkins has had to do an awful lot of work since Dawson got injured; I'd not suprised if he isn't close to being totally physically and mentally bolloxed.
Re: Opinions eh. Aye, game of opinions and that. I thought Perkins was good last night. Admittedly, he did get caught in possession a couple of times but I don't mind that too much as long as it's not in dangerous areas. I think generally, he has a cool head when we're under pressure and unlike others who will revert to smashing it clear he will wriggle out of a challenge...make a break or draw a foul. He was out of his depth at the Etihad but wasn't the only one by any means. Dawson coming back will take the heat off him a bit. Dawson is also comfortable in possession and the onus isn't solely on Perkins to get it down. Etuhu was excellent off the ball last night but doesn't have the same kind of balance and ability on the ball as Perkins.
I agree Perkins is having to do the majority of the breakup play, he's probably showing signs of tiredness and he would definitely benefit from Dawson being alongside him. If we revert back to the wing backs (loans permitting), I'd go with Dawson, Perkins and Etuhu as midfield 3 with Mellis to come on. If we do nothing else with the money generated from the Cup run, we MUST get Perkins tied to a longer deal with no clauses or owt.
Sorry, mustve missed that irrespective of which league we are in next year, Perkins is central to what we need to move on. Championship quality, he'd be essential if we go down and want to bounce straight back. Its no coincidence most opposition fans pick him out after we've played them.
Re: Sorry, mustve missed that Got until the end of next season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19367226 That'll take him to being nearly 32.
I don't agree with the original post but I can understand it. He's had better games but nevertheless he is still one of our most vital players. #OurMessi
