I heard it first in a football sense in The Ukraine at last summers Euros. All the stadiums had mega sound systems and they used to play it before each match, atmosphere was superb. It really caught on, and it must have been brought back by travelling England fans.

It was actually the Italian fans in 2006 World Cup that adopted it

I think it sounds terrible. Perhaps I'm getting old as I know a lot of people like it but to me, it's not a football tune.

Yep. Went to Italy on holiday that summer. Every night out ended with hoards of Italians chanting along. Great memories. Not as good as when I was in Greece for the semi and the final of the Euros when they won it though. Two of the best nights out of my life. Proper mental.

Think one of the German sides used it before then, maybe Werder Bremen?

I look forward to hearing this at Hillsborough, it quickly becomes dirty red and white b*stards, singing the same songs as Sheff Utd is quite cute though.

Dunt be coming here with your fancy ways from Walkley. Oh, Walkley. Right. Sorry you have my deepest condolences.

Is that where Bothroyd lodged ? No wonder he's got the hump with you lot.
