Which is now a possibility how many of the current squad will still be here next season.
Do you think we will strengthen and push on to playoffs.
Will the management team still be here.
    All hyp. but discuss anyway
    YOU REDS

i believe if we stay up and retain flicker et al, we have a great chance of competing for top 12. top 6 is probably still too ambitious, even with the transformation under flicker

Well he brought in Nouble from previous management and Mellis from previous management. So i'd not be surprised that when Ryan Shotton isn't given a new contract in the summer by Stoke if Flicker went to try and bring him back here on a free transfer to be a regular next season.

Way things are going we could still probably make top twelve this season

    Changed it from top six.

not a chance. have you seen april's fixtures! i think another 10 points could see us safe. For me, the game at Hillsborough is the biggest win of the lot

Not too sure about that tbh.
Three wins will be sufficient IMO or a combination of wins and draws to obtain the equivalent points tally.
As far as the fixtures go I don't honestly see any difference between top and bottom for gaining or losing points as everybody is beating anybody since Christmas imho

i say hillsborough because of the timing and the league position. would be a huge psychological boost and would rock their MASSIVE world to not win that game

'When' we stay up... I reckon Flicker will definitely stay as will most of the squad. My only concern will be keeping hold of Mellis - he'll probably be the next in the line of Hammill/VazTe/Davies etc.

I also think we should be able to recruit well with Flicker at the helm. He obviously sells the club really well and we can offer quality potential players plenty of game time they might not get at other Championship clubs.

As for play-offs? Lets not get ahead of ourselves. We still need investment I think, although it certainly seems like we've got a cracking manager to get the best out of players.

Well Zemaj was just goin on our recent form, is it just because we re trying really hard to stay up and putting in every effort. Will or can we continue this through to next season as this form is not far off play off material. All this on a shoestring. Swatimsayin

I'd be pretty amazed if we got anywhere near Ryan Shotton.

If we stay up I would like us to make a statement and offer him a 4 years contract. In fact, the same applies if we go down. He is the right fit for this club and if we persevere I think we can go places with him.

I can't see anyone leaving. I think he'll add a bit of quality in the wingback positions and defence but the spine of this team is just fine.

Shotton would be a cracking signing for us, at either RB or CB.

We've maintained promotion form for 10 weeks but I don't think we could maintain it for an entire season. Consistency is the key.
That being said, we had a set back losing 3 on the trot, but have bounced back well from that. We could easily have collapsed and gone back to bottom half of the table form (under normal circumstances) but we've pushed on and the last couple of games have been two of our best performances.

I think it's vital we keep Flicker, Mellon and Scott and we'll also have to be lucky with unearthing a couple of gems. I don't know if Scotland and Harewood have another season in them but I think an O'Grady/Dagnall partnership is more than decent. I think we have two of the best central midfielders in the division in Dawson and Perkins. Etuhu ain't bad either and Mellis should continue to improve.

Despite a couple of impressive performances recently I don't think our defence is quite good enough. Foster is a decent championship centre half but he's found his level. He's getting on a bit now and might not fully recover from his back injury. However, I think Cranie is certainly good enough to play in a promotion chasing team, I'd have him over Shackell any day. Calm and assured and reads the game well.

You are probably right. Nice thought though. He wasn't bad when we last had him and since then he's come on loads. Can't see a premiership side wanting him but those top part of the championship that don't get promoted likely will.
