    I always quite liked DM - at least until Violator which was one of the big albums when I was at 6th form - but thinking about it I always preferred some of the cover versions of their songs (Johnny Cash's "Personal Jesus" in particular). Maybe I'm just old and developing a pathological hatred of the Simon Cowell-esq poor quality identical covers by young people who never even heard the original.

    And, Vince Clarke wrote it and I always hated Erasure with a vengeance.

    I can't agree, but as I've been so rude about Depeche I will own up to Number One Song in Heaven by Sparks. Not a favourite nowadays, but I did buy it. Possibly even with my own money.
