For the first time in years the playerof the year is impossible to predict, as we have a few very good candidates. I would imagine that the top three will be Dagnell, Dawson and Perkins, but in what order I don't know. I'm going to wait a few games before making my choice, although I am leaning towards Daggers, not only because of his goals and his workrate, but also because of his attitude. He never gave up and has been a great inspiration to others who were not having a great season (Harewood, Etuhu, etc) showing them that by putting the effort in you will get there.

Would have been Dawson until he got injured. Now Perkins.

Nobody. Haven't voted since the award was stolen from the fans and handed to the corporates.

But FWIW my POTY is Perkins.

Well said. POTY award means naff all now as everyone already knows the winner before the last home game. It's a pointless corporate award to cater to the small minority.

Isn't the award night after the final home game this season?

Is there only me that feels the irony of a club who's general manager refers to "keyboard warriors" one day, then releases details of online voting for POY?

    Rowing's a bell.

Apparently 12 different players have been voted for. Work that one out.

    Perkins
    Dawson
    Dagnall
    Golbourne
    Cranie

They would be my top 5 in that order, I can't think of any others that have been in the team and performed consistently enough to deserve it.

Steele, Foster, O'Brien, Wiseman have been in the team long enough to be getting considered but despite having some good games, they haven't performed well enough throughout the season to deserve it, especially when compared with the above.

Mellis, Harewood, Kennedy, Scotland, Etuhu, Cywka have all had good half seasons but have missed too many games to be worthy.

In order to judge the true value of contributions made, it would be sensible to wait a couple of weeks. Dagnall, Perkins or even Scotland could push their claims in the next few games.

But, I've voted already for Dawson, because I believe that the effort, commitment and drive he showed when we were struggling most epitomises the qualities of the team that have since led us on the run we've been on. He led from the front, and it's such a shame he got injured when he did.

Similar can be said for Perkins, so whether or not we make it, hats off to them two for showing the way.

If you've not voted Dawson I can't accept your opinion on any matter.
