Inability to sign defenders that can actually defend will see us relegated and no one to blame but them 2 for not changing defence

We've needed a solid defender for about eight years. It's not a Hill/Flitcroft thing.

Yeah - but its didnt cost us last 7 seasons. Its been clear all year we do not have a partner good enough to play in a 2 man central defence with Cranie.

I thought Flitcroft had seen this going with a 3-5-2 formation. I dont know why he's changed it.

Whats wrong with Hassell, Cranie and Foster at centre half and wiseman and kennedy wing backs? Its better than a 2 man centre partnership that includes Wiseman surely?

Kennedy not fast enough to play there

He was fast enough to play there for Leicester.

Also I don't remember Archdeacon or Thompson ever being blessed with pace.

original post is spot on,that defence will cost us our place in the championship. We can have all the possession we want but its nailed on that the first sign of anything that comes near our box we get in a mess and are all over the place,I reckon at best we may have got a draw today, despite being the better team for most of the match, but the first decent move Wednesday got in the second half they scored from it,and it came as no surprise to me.
nothing knee jerk here,i've said it for yonks, our weakness is at the back and nowts been done about it,which is a shame because at the other end of the field we are creating chances, summat we were unable to do while hilly was in charge.

I think it's something we should look at playing again. Mellis is currently our best player and 3-5-2 suits him perfectly.

Cranie is a good player but with Foster struggling with injury problems do we have enough central defenders to play 3.

Utter ballax. Both Machin and Wilson played wing backs with those two on the left.

3 million stones + 1 million from cup run in bank and we couldn't get a replacement. Poor effort.

    Smoke and mirrors.

Wonder if cryne has just recouped half of his 6m?

Don't think that's true...we've had a poor defence ever since we got promotion....whoever the personal as been and or the manager...good defenders cost money...THERE lies the problem....lack of funds from the benifactor and small crowds...both to blame as much as owt else..

Inability to play Foster consistently is what might cost us, in my opinion like.

you can bet your ****** he has, there cant be any other reason that we havnt recruited any defenders when its plain to see we still struggle at the back.
