I'm gutted to say it. The last few months have been excellent, you can feel the change in the club from supporters to players and its all come from Flitcroft (a man I admit I didn't want!). But the gods aren't helping us. We win game after game, but so does everyone else. We are top of the table in 2013, but still second from bottom in the league. We play a **** side that can only lump it, but they beat us. I hope I'm wrong, but I can see us going down with a record number of points.....
Lets hope the players don't share your pessimism. Win our game in hand and it is all to play for. IMO I think it will go to the last game.
I think that someone will go down with a record number of points. It's still well within the boundaries of reasonable that it isn't Us. We just need to win 3 home games. Lose on Monday and it will start looking grim though with the run in We have.
It's still in our hands but the way all the sides down there with us are winning it's making things very difficult. Bristol City could get cut adrift but the other two spots could go to any of about eight teams.
No we wont. We are all gutted because we lost today and that naturally makes you pessimistic and down. The players will react positively I'm sure. I thought we would get at least a draw against Wendy but then again I thought we'd lose against Brighton and Watford... There are many twists left....
Chin up, pal. 8 games to go, 10 points should be good enough. I reckon we're capable of at least 12. And our form under Flitcroft reflects that. You reds.
Perversely I find the fact that we have to play top sides on the run in..... ...a cause for optimism. I know it defies logic but in all the years I have followed the Reds they have regularly confounded me by 'performing' against good opposition and failing to get a result when playing against sides they would have expected to win against. If yesterday and recent results are anything to go by that trend continues. Onwards and .....err......onwards!!
I believe we'll stay up It's going to be a nervous end to the season, but I think we'll succeed in maintaining our Championship status.
Re: I believe we'll stay up It is going to the wire. The teams with the most guts will survive. We need 3 points on Monday. Then 3 in game in hand and that is us on 50 points A win from rest will do it. As daft as it seems we may win against the top teams who are getting edgy. Also such as Derby, Charlton, who may try new fringe players for experience in team. The run in throws silly results, and we are playing well enough to escape. Forget Wendy's match, they are a jinx, and we never get anything from Hiilsboro .
Re: I believe we'll stay up I hate absolutely everything about Owls......I mean everything. Losing to them hurts like crazy......but I'm used to it over the years, they have the jinx over us. Lets look at the bigger picture......be proud to pull on the RED shirt in each and every match we have left and see ourselves through to safety. Don't panic......stick together as a team/fans.......we'll be reight.
I don't believe there's a great difference With regards to ability between the teams at the top and bottom. I agree with you, the teams who'll avoid relegation will be the bravest and not susceptible to nervousness & fear.
Re: I don't believe there's a great difference If we were to go down the main reason would be the total failure of the last 2 or 3 managers to address the ongoing defensive shortcomings. Its alright having fighting spirit, which we've now got in abundance, but without a solid defence we are always, always going to struggle to survive.
[quote We just need to win 3 home games[/quote] That would give us 52 points...Mmmmm ....id say we need 4 wins to make sure..
I think we need 10 more points to be safe. 3 wins and a draw - 54 points. I'm confident we will achieve 10 more points and stay up
