What it fails to mention is that he only played two and a half games in that time.

 

There are local coaches equally, if not better qualified than this lot.

If Phil Gridelet is relying on this to make a living then he's gunna struggle big time.

 

It also says he was part of the Barnet team that won promotion to the Football League; again, technically correct, however Barnet won promotion in May 1991 and God's gift to football was transferred to us in September 1990, so I guess he wasn't that influential in their promotion.

 

Ranks as probably the worst signing BFC have made during my time as a fan (since mid 1970's).

A bit hard to pass judgement as he was constantly injured. I'd rank Kevin Donovan and Mike Sheron as far worse signings personally.

 

You cannot put Mike Sheron and Phil Gridelet in the same bracket.

I agree with Kevin Donovan......and add Mike Flynn, Paul Gibbs to the list.

 

Sheron was not a bad player, just not worth what we paid. As for Flynn and Gibbs, they were both a rip off at nowt! Or did we even pay something for Gibbs?!

 

Flynn and Gibbo were truly awful.

Agreed that Sheron was a good payer, but not exactly value for money. He did make a lot of goals for Bruce Dyer, so would be interesting to hear Bruce's opinion on this.

Cannot remember a single thing about him. The name doesn't even ring a bell. How many games did he play for us?

 

Where's this come from? What the **** could this lad teach anybody.......beggars belief.

 

Signed for a non-league record of £150, 000 from Barnet in the early 90s by Machin I think. Immediately declared that he would play for England but got crocked and disappeared for a year or two. The rumour on the terraces every week was that "he'll be back in a month". I remember him being on the bench once, possibly in the 4-1 FA Cup demolition of West Ham. Earned the nickname "god" due to the fact that although he was supposed to exist, nobody had ever seen him in the flesh. Eventually released and went on to have a reasonable career at Southend. Never played for England.

 

I remember Phil Gridelet perfectly well mate. I was talking about Darren Jack, who Bostonwayne gave a link to.

I think he should get together with Mr Gridelet; could be a world-beating coaching team (in ********, that is).

 

Unbelievable how these people think they have the "I was a pro" advantage......like I said in an earlier post, Barnsley area does have better grass-roots coaches than these two fools.
