I honestly believe that a win tomorrow is vital for us to avoid the dreaded drop. Given that our next 2 games after are at Palace & Cardiff which are 90% likely to bring zilch points, defeat tomorrow would just leave us needing too much from our last 5 games. Reckon we would then need at least 3 wins and a draw from Charlton, Derby & Hull at home, Forest & Hudds away. That's asking a helluva lot in anyone's book. 54 points at least needed to stop up I reckon, so tomorrow is absolutely massive for our prospects. COYR...!!!
Whilst we must look at every game as must win...in reality it's not,we've just as much chance of beating Leicester as Palace or Cardiff...every game we have left is winnable
I'm afraid the firepower teams like Palace & Cardiff possess are just too much for our poor defence. Teams just don't have to work very hard enough to score against us and the likes of Murray, Phillips, Zaha, Bellamy, Campbell et al will have too much for us. Really hope & pray I'm wrong.....
Whilst I agree with the cold hard logic of that fact, I also agree with OMB that tomorrow 'feels like a must win game'. It would not be over until we mathematically couldn't get enough points, but there would come a time when it all starts to look a bit long shot. At the moment, a reasonable return from our home games will keep us up but once we start factoring in needing to win what look like very difficult away games as well, that is the point I would start to lose hope.
I can see what you're saying..but I genuinely believe there are no games left that are more... or less difficult than others The bookies must have made a fortune on the results of the last month
I still don't think it's a must win. Agreed, it will send the beloved BBS crew into hysteria if we lose. But it still wouldn't put us totally out of reach
If Birmingham can go to Palace and win 4-0 why shouldn't we be able to get something? We'll pick up the odd surprise result.
