Point taken Tom and I know we have pretty much similar views on most things and I am so happy for the lad. To that end i do celebrate the praise he is getting. I really have no intention of scoring points ......it's just that people need to realise that our team need our support - thru thick and thin. We shouldn't forget that he nearly left the club because of the way the fans treated him.

he seems to have found his position and settled down. he's got a few good performances under his belt now and more importantly, winning the fans back. another brilliant resurrection under flicker

    Wrong.

He nearly left because the club/management thought he needed a fresh start. But Scott was offered worse terms by Blackpool, then came Appleton's departure, and Scott has since returned and grown in stature with each and every performance.

Nobody wanted to deem him a poor defender. I took no pleasure in doing so.

I wanted him to prove myself and other doubters wrong, and at the moment he's doing just that. Hence the gushing praise he's now getting.

    Stronger together and all that.

*I will add, that it's since I included him in my avatar that he's started to play well..... :D

Long live your avatar!!, come on whitey's avatar! :D
Have to say tho (and this is debate and nowt else) ,,,,I did think that part of th e reason that flicker thought he needed a fresh start was because it hadn't worked out for him here....one reason being his "relationship" with the fans... Twitter abuse etc etc.

One positive from Manchester is that they saw what the best looked like and have no need to fear anyone else or be awestruck. Scott has been fantastic since Manchester, now where's my bit of pie?

It's in the oven with mine.

Is it any coincidence that Wiseman has been much much better since he's had Bobby at the side of him instead of people like mcnulty?

Agreed Wiseman was man of the first half and remained in top 3 at full time. Great performance

Thought all those that started were brilliant, O'Brien struggled when he came on and it took Dagnall ages to get into the game. Foster was solid when he came on.

Steele was dodgy today though, yes he made one brilliant save but other than that his kicking/distribution was poor and he seemed to make hard work of a few situations - what was going on with that simple catch that ended up bouncing off the top of the crossbar? Can only thing the sun got in his eyes or something. Alnwick must have watched his performance today and wondered what he has to do to get a game - it will go down as a clean sheet on his record but he was lucky today.

Fantastic from Scott today and also really since Flicker took over. You could see the confidence flowing through him all game - a world away from the last few games he played under Hill. It would appear that few defences can deal with his pace and what's great is that they don't expect it. Konchesky looked completely shell shocked for the goal.

I've seen many a fullback that could play at Right Back or Left Back, but not cover both positions at the same time.

Outstanding today, especially the forays over to left back to hoof the ball into the West Stand Bogs.

Scott Wiseman - be very proud of yourself lad; you've recovered from a bad period in your career, faced your demons full-on and come out the other side being a mentally stronger player.........you've looked top class lad and should be very proud.

I'd be thoroughly ashamed and embarrassed if I'd booed him against Blackburn

The guys pace and reading of the game at the minute is invaluable

Never boo your own, number one rule of being a supporter

Wiseman is a cracking player, when we play to his strengths and our opponents play into his hands. Playing Wiseman at centre half against a long ball side such as Wednesday or Palace is suicidal, as it was against the two aforementioned teams at home. Glenn Murray in particular had a field day against him. Playing Wiseman at full back, or in the centre against a side like Leicester today or Birmingham in the game we 5-0, and he'll sweep up like he did today all day long. He is awful in the air, but when he focuses on his basic defensive duties like he did today, he's a pretty solid defender.

Credit to the lad too, had a hand in both goals, more directly in the first, but it was his clever play to guide the ball back to Steele to begin the move for the 2nd goal which will probably go more unnoticed. Was just shaded by O'Grady today for man of the match imo.
