Not deluded in the slightest. He's got no contract with us, and we aren't safe yet. I'm a bit worried somebody will take him, Leeds or otherwise.
I really want us to stay up, give flicker et al a contract for next season, give him some of the stones cash and tell him to go and build for our assault on the chapionship 2013-14. I just hope the clubs faffing about with butcher and odreary havent scuppered that if we do stay up. Id hope not though - he sounds well up for it and hes mentioned next season more than once now.
I do beg your pardon. I'm sure you knew what I meant, don't let that stop you being a clever lovely person though.
I think Leeds would be too big a step up for him in terms of the expectations of the Leeds hard core their fans. I don't think they would except anything less than a manager who has been in the Premiership. O'Neill would be ok for them. They are like Wednesday tha nos a massive club. But they don't have any money either, and if they have they haven't been spending it.
They'll just get another over priced, over rated manager and make the Warnock sacking look a little pointless.
He's definitely going to manage at the top level. Close season, if Leeds come in with a £5m player budget and double his salary - you really think that wont tempt him? We're the top team in 2013. He has a WR of 65% and 2PPG average. Best manager in the Champ right now. Only thing keeping other clubs away is our league position
come again? you said he wasn't under contract - i said he was. Didn't know if you realised he had signed or not.
Considering we offered Butcher the best deal in the clubs history to manage us I think that we should be offering Flicker at least the same deal. We dodged a bullet when Butcher turned us down and quite why anybody thought he was worth a deal like the one offered is beyond me. Flicker and his team however have proven that they are. Over to you Don and Pat.
Completely agree Mario, but once our league status is determined the club will know what kind of contracts can be offered. I think if Leeds make an inquiry for Flicker, things will move pretty rapidly. If they lose him due to hesitation, the club will be in for a right kicking from the fans. That surely can't be allowed to happen? I don't think Leeds will be alone either, I predict 20-30% sweep of managers this summer in the championship.
