I was a bit surprised to hear he works on the turnstiles at Oakwell!

I always thought you came across as a nice bloke on here until I half met you at the Leeds game this year when you and Gally completely ******* ignored me in the exec box you set of *******s.

I've never sat in the west stand (except for Charity games). Are there any advantages to it? I've always wondered why people sit there.

Great view! Unlike the toss view we have of the West from the East. I bet sitting in the West Stand feels like you're sat at Wembley. Almost.

That is a very good point! Except I'm generally looking at the pitch not the stand opposite.

The ground looks finished from there!!

I was a young dugout rat in from the days of Allan and Norman. It was to be near the tunnel, to get autographs and generally be closer to the players like you do when you're young. Norman used to throw us boiled sweets.

I have progressed upstairs as I've got older, though might sit in the lower bit when the weather's nice. I have an aversion to bright light and the canopy of the roof keeps the glare of the floodlights out of my view otherwise I'd be seeing them for days after. It's also got bags of character which I love, not least the bogs!

No, you'll have to turn your head further to look at the scoreboard. Can't be dealing with that.

Oh yes, can't beat the toilets! My brother always told me to keep away from the West Stand pretty much at all costs and I'd never put much thought into why. I might try it out next time I head to Oakwell.

    My hearts in Ponty.

Best place for atmosphere in Oakwell IMO and I like the view.

Did sit in West Stand once for a reserves match.

    Odejayi said hello to me.

    Bless him.

It's got less chavvy types in there, and less pissed up and vocally moronic types, too. I like that.

I had grown tired of the arseholes behind me in the Ponty End whose sole purpose when attending last season seemed to be to shout/scream/spit obscenities at "lower league *****.." etc.

There are other benefits to the West Stand, already mentioned above - the bogs, the view, the bogs, the feeling of yesteryear, and the bogs.

    You Reds.

Got to say the few times i've been in the West Stand i've liked it.
It's a bit different, i see it as good old, not bad old like at Hillsborough.

I've tried to go in there a few times and ended up in behind the goal.
i like to sit some were different from normal league games. I sit with the same faces game in game out (most of the block are Season Ticket holders)

I seem to lose my mind when i see the Red wall and think all them turnstiles are for the West Stand, did it this season for the Burnley game.

If we don't replace the West Stand soon , some daft bugger will make it a listed building and we'll be stuck with it for ever.
