I was mocked mercilessly at uni for it. Plus they went bust about a month in to the season. To be fair VK wasn't much better.

I had the lime green away one. Wore it with pride in Portugal that summer. Saw us get loved 4-0 or summat by Birmingham in a pub there.

Errr I believe the first kit I got was a Hamilton Accies home strip from my Auntie though I don't think my Mum ever let me wear it. First kit I can remember wearing was the Liverpool 'Hitachi' number.

My first one was the Ora play off-final one from 99/2000.

As a young lad I begged my dad to buy me it for the play offs and the final

My first shirt was the best Reds shirt ever, IMO, from 1980 - plain red, shiny material with the gold oakwell emblem (leaf above the well). As worn by the best BFC team that never quite made it, starring Aylott, Parker, Glavin, Macca etc etc. What a shirt. What a team.

Now someone else has come clean, I think my first football kit was a Sheffield Wednesday kit, bought by my uncle. Think it was just a kit in the style of Wendies, with a Wendy badge sewn on the front.

I got that Ora shirt with the stripes on the arms not long after, and a goalie shirt, either from the same season or the one before. Green with black Ora logo. Not that you can really see it, but the one on this image

The Big Thing shirt looked ridiculous with a beer belly in it.

Mine was the away shirt with Sandal Bayern on it 1988- yellow with a black stripe going down it. Wonder if I've still got it, loved it to bits

West Ham/ Aston Villa style claret body/pale blue sleeves for no other reason than I liked the colours. Mind you there were no real replica kits in those days , no badges or anything like that. Have to say I still prefer the feel of the tee shirt type material for everyday wear to the modern stuff too!

    Cough...Leeds Utd

Bought for me by my Grandad along with a sports holdall, early 70's when I was about 8/9. Don't know why, I never supported Leeds. Me, my Dad and Grandad only ever supported Barnsley. I suppose it was because Leeds were near the top of the pile at the time and it was what the sports shops were selling. Wore it once at school, never again, had the holdall for years though.

In the 1978 89 season Barnsley had 3 different home kits two were made by admiral ans the final by umbro. Non of which were sold as a Barnsley shirt. I had the one used at the start of that season with the admiral logo on the sleaves which you could buy in suggs
