[QUOTplaces like Barnsley and many other post-industrial towns would just be left to go to the wall .[/QUOTE] That's just whats happened....only thing labour's left us to rot an'all
I pay more national insurance and pension - can show me where my tax cut is. Plus a pay freeze for the last few years
I'm paying less tax than I did. Thats because I'm earning 25% less than 10 years ago thanks to companies I work for jumping on the "we've got to cut costs" bandwagon as soon as the (tory worshipping)papers started blowing the whole "credit crunch" out of proportion(even though they are still making millions in profits).
Exactly. Firms citing costs for low wages or no rises etc but how can costs go u if the manufacturing costs are going down? People are being duped by the corperates helped by the billionaire media barons
Only the UK, Ireland and Sweden gave full labour market access to the A8 countries (Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia).
That's cool, given they are LESS likely to be unemployed then average they clearly make a NET CONTRIBUTION to the Treasury coffers, imagine what the deficit would look like if we didn't have all these young folk working and paying taxes eh? Unemployment rate among workers from A8 countries was around 5% during the third quarter of 2009, compared to a rate of 7.9% amongst UK-born workers and 12% for those from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
I was talking about tradesmen in Barnsley who were doing well until their wages were forced down by this immigration, some have been forced into unemployment and make up part of those figures you're quoting.
Or was it greedy business owners taking advantage of cheap labour that forced the prices down(or at least using them as an excuse to cut prices). The same business owners that keep whinging about the number of foreigners in the country.
