a bit tricky without seeing the context to be honest - if the ball is just out of shot and only just above waist hight and both players went for it - one with a head and one with a boot I dont think it is a read card. If the ball has long gone and its a kung fu kick to the head red card would be correct
Definitely a red card Unless I've missed the change in rules which states you're entitled to raise your boot as high as a Tiller Girl and kick an opponent in the head.
Re: Definitely a red card But then why is it that once a month at oakwell we see a yellow card given for high feet?
Re: Definitely a red card Jordi Gomez does duck his head down a bit. Common sense says accidental, the law says red card.
Zamora connected It was a blatant red. Start on me with your bullying tactics and I'll ram your face in my armpit!!
Re: Zamora connected Of course it's a Red Card. That player could have broke his ankle the reckless way the other guy went in with his head.
Re: Zamora connected Just watched the you tube clip and its a definite red card. It looks like not only is the foot very high, Zamora follows through in the challenge. He can have zero argument.
Re: Zamora connected I might enjoy that though. I actually agree that it's a red card, just like I thought Nani's was a red in the champions league. I just don't understand how all the instances of high feet (dangerous play) i've seen at Oakwell have only been a yellow card and can't see the difference from a ruling point of view. I also don't think that gomez made a meal of it but then we all know I like to be different
Re: Zamora connected And I'll be wearing my leotard! Consistency from referees when making these decisions wouldn't go amiss, mate.
And the linesman who made the call for the ref is a mate of mine, Scott ledger from Royston, cracking lad,
