They're holding the minutes silence for Hillsborough not Thatcher. On RedandWhiteKop they're saying that if her name is even whispered (as they might try and combine both) they're going to change it to a chant of Justice for the 96 instead.

As Jamdrop said, they will burn Reading down rather than be silent for her.

Give them their due, the scousers might have a massive chip on the shoulder for all sorts of reasons, but they have been mightily shat on a fair few times (sometimes their own doing) and they remember who their enemies are.

you are probably right about that ..Sir John Madejski is a well known Thatrcherite... think his Intention is as a mark of respect to her... it will be interesting to see how it actually pans out..

Rather touching she passed in the anniversary month of the Hillsborough Disaster.

They should all disrupt it. Proper mark of respect to The 96.

And the funeral is apparently on the 20th anniversary of the closure of Essington Colliery.

Any minutes' silence for Thatcher and I'll be on the first plane home to disrupt it. I haven't been advocating the parties since she snuffed it, but this is a whole different ball game. If celebrating her death is distasteful in my book, celebrating or even paying a modicum of respect to her life is filthy, wrong, and downright sick.

I did. A little coincidental that they announce a minutes silence when there is no link to Hillsborough on that date, to the club or the like don't you think?

Madjeski 'we should have a minutes silence for Maggie'
Reading FC afterwards 'we're having a minutes silence for Hillsborough'.

    Nah.
