Looks like they are now a fan owned club, they must be relieved and to be honest, I'm pleased for the fans... ...not sure where this leaves the creditors etc. mind...
I think it depends on when they will have a material affect. So if they go down this season anyway they will start next season on minus 10 but if they would survive this season the points will be deducted this season to send them down.

technically they are not owned by the fans. 5 high net worth individuals have stumped up most of the cash and have indeed been funding the club for the past 5 months. a property developer has bought the land around fratton park from a previous owner of the football club (sacha gaydamak) so therefore has rights to build/sell do as he sees fit etc but the pompey trust needed this land and didnt really have the cash to buy it, ! the fans have stumped up £1000 each for a share in the supporters trust , in turn the supporters trust have been given a share in the pompey trust ( owned by the 5 high net worth individuals) the local council have been tapped up for a loan of nearly 2million quid to fund the purchase of the ground , which is what happened today (from another previous owner balram chanrai) if you care to google micah hall and his excellent blog and reporting you will need about 3 weeks to wade through the underhand goings on and deceit thats gone on. yes the fans have been shafted, many of them think its all the fa's fault ,
What I don't get is how clubs like Bury only need £1m, but clubs like Bolton owe over £160m How does that work out?
Basically because Bolton are making payments on the monies loaned. This is the same as if you or I take out a loan, once the repayments stop then your in trouble.
I see, thanks for clearing it up. I just dont think it's fair considering the actual amount owed. Similar situation with Darlington last year - they had relatively minuscule debts yet were relegated 3 leagues.
