Dekparker does have a point Also it may be a bit warm for the NCB jackets if anyone has still got one thats about 20 years old
How about wearing a Barnsley shirt? Just a crazy idea I thought I'd put out there. I'm off my head, me.
To me these represent management, rather than the lads who wore them - but here you go, I think this is what you are on about. Good luck finding one!!
most pits I worked at we only wore the jacket to ride the shaft,we worked the rest of the shift in shorts and nowt else.
to be honest, not sure i want to hear about you working in just shorts and riding the shaft. thanks though.
we'd get locked up these days for what we used to get up to and the PC brigade would have a field day..
When I was dealing with VWF claims we had to request copies of all the claimant's training records. One bloke had his disciplinary records in there, and in one incident he and a workmate had forced another bloke to give them both a blow job. I don't think he got dismissed for it either. Is that the type of thing you're referring to?
jesus. this thread has just got way too gay for me. my grandad always said 'i wish they'd shut the pits 50 years earlier'. i always thought he was referring to the emphysema and terrible working conditions. maybe not i'm out (not in a gay way).
