Refuses to play ding dong the witch is dead in the charts. Happily plays 'i'm in love with magaret thatcher' the cnuts
The BBC are supposed to be impartial but once again they are up to their necks in hypocrisy and political sycophancy. I haven't bought the record but they have no right to ignore the public who have been buying the record.
I'm certain they will have been leaned upon Not excusing it but remember the environment the BBC is operating in. After the NHS its a sitting duck target for privatisation
You're probably right; Cameron has probably had a word to ensure that no 'embarrassment' is caused but ironically it could all backfire.
It's alright ,,,,they think the "Working Classes" are thick anyway and we won't notice that a song that wasn't about her (but now is but from years ago) isn't ok but a song that takes the p1$$ and from her time is ok T0$$€r$
No-one has mentioned the appropriation and misrepresentation of a published work by the Thatcher party people. I doubt MGM or whoever owns the rights to the tune are too chuffed about it operating as a theme tune for the politically naive. I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere or is even an issue for the BBC, but if it was my tune I would be out with a lynch mob lynching the mob.
Pope Catholic? Bears **** in woods of course they are hypocritical - I dont know why anyone is surprised
I think it's funny that Ding Ding got to number 2 but the song that all the rich Tories (that were probably using tax money to buy it) only managed to get to number 35.
That political totty Louise mensch is touting it all over twitter. . . Some times you just shake your head with despair
I wouldn't go as far as saying it was misrepresentation, no lyrics have been altered it's just lyric association and like RS said they're making a pretty penny through loyalties. I don't think they'll be too upset.
I can forgive Louise Mensch for being a Tory though Still wrong of the Beeb - lot of leaning gone on this week.
