Has there been any mention of the crowd reaction after the final whistle?

    Congratulations on the baby mate.

In my opinion if you were there you wouldn't have wanted to boo. Everything went wrong on Saturday, but I've seen us play worse than that and not lose. Charlton were clearly the better side, but we had more attacks than them and as many efforts on goal as them. Everything they touched turned to gold, everything we tried was blocked by one of the best defensive performances I've seen at Oakwell. And we never gave up, we never stopped trying. By the end we had two players sent off and a further two clearly injured. We were effectively playing with 7 men and a few of those were also struggling. I've seen some really gutless performances over the years watching Barnsley, games where our players obviously didn't give a ****, but Saturday wasn't one of them. I was tremendously disappointed by the result but it never entered my head to boo. I'm not playing 'I'm a better fan than you', it's just that even at 6-0 down I didn't consider it a performance worthy of booing.

Booing achieves nothing, it won't make them play better next time, it'll just make them fear making mistakes, rather than shoot they'll pass, rather than take a risk and put in a though ball they'll pass sidways or back. Support encourages players, they should not fear making mistakes or taking risks, booing just adds anxity. There is no job in the world were you are expected to perform to your best while hundreds of people boo and ridicule you.

Well done to those that stayed and clapped the lads off, it was refreshing to see and gave me a sense of pride, yeah we got wipped, but at least we stuck by em.

    You reds!

    Cheers Jay.

Glad to see that it wasn't a lack of effort or commitment. TBH, I would have been amazed if that was the case.

I actually stayed and applauded for the first time in ages, am usually off like a bat out of hell so as not to get stuck in traffic, but there was hardly anyone left to get stuck in traffic with.

The applause was given for what we have been served up since Flicker took over.

    Congrats Red on the newborn.

I left at 4-0. Didn't boo. Didn't clap. There's no way I'm going to stay to the end to applaud a team when they have lost 6-0 at home to very average opposition.
