http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/04/15/iraq-bombings-wave-attacks.html 55 brown people die, no one cared.
People do care, but the difference is people are used to, and even expect, bombings in Iraq which is unstable. They don't expect bombs in a major Western city during a marathon. P.s. I'm pretty sure there'll be brown people affected in Boston as well!
im sure there were quite a few people with brown faces injured in Boston today and your remarks are quite irresponsible
Isn't the point he's trying to make the fact that our news programmes are filled with the Boston bombings, yet there has been little or no mention of the bombs in Iraq. I watched the ITV news at 10 tonight and the Boston bombings were the headline story. I don't think they mentioned the bombs in Iraq despite the fact that more people died.
it is and earlier in the day the iraq bombs were all over the news here. I guess itv went the way they did due to the large amounts of Brits that live in Boston
Explain how they are irresponsible, just pointing out the valur we seem to place on human life isn't the same, depending on if your from the West or not. All of these deaths are equally tragic, that we don't treat them the same should give us pause for thought.
CNN just reporting that an 8-year old is one of the dead in Boston. Death toll likely to rise too, unfortunately.
I absolutely agree. Unfortunately, they are seen by many as an acceptable statistic of internal conflicts and the 'war on terror'. I'm saving the bad news until tomorrow, so shall keep it buttoned until then.
Sadly bombings and loss of life are a regular occuance in Iraq... Sad but true. Boston is civilsed city not a war zone. hence why bombing is news. Both tragic, but cann
