A football club is for life - not just the Championship. Barnsley till I die.

Can't wait for August - bring on Aston Villa, Leyton Orient or whoever.

Don't worry about the "I'm a better fan than than you" argument.

Anyone, in my opinion, who is deciding not to renew purely and simply upon the basis of which league we're in, or indeed who is the manager, or what players we have, is a lesser fan than the fan who will renew regardless of these considerations.

Its a foregone conclusion for me just renew automtic tbh so unless it gets really bad with the money situ I'll be there .also if we do go down the youngsters at the club will revel in that division and if we Dony,t sell them as soon as they show promise I think we'll storm the league

If we go down and its probably 50/50 at moment , I would think we would average @ 8,500 if we are in top 6

A fiver, amazing! Though I would guess that you could buy rather more than a pint of beer with it in them days, even in London!

I'm a relative newcomer to Oakwell compared to one or two on here then, as I've only been going for 36 years, but as we were in the fourth division then I'll still be up on the deal even if we go down. I honestly don't know what would stop me going down. Probably the nearest I've come is during administration, when my faith in football almost disappeared, what with people chucking money into collection buckets just to pay the wages of players sat in the reserves, whilst the office staff were getting laid off.

In fact, my love for all things BFC has remained (and even strengthened since January for the first time in over a decade), despite the fact that I have fallen out of love with football as a game. Unless there is a chance of a 22 man pitch brawl (maybe the Manchester derby or Man United v Liverpool or Chelsea) i never watch the footy. I'll watch controversial incidents on youtube and I love the quirky video clips on the whoateallthepies website (I thoroughly recommend you check this website out and search back a few weeks for the worst free kick in the history of football, as it beggars belief), but I only keep Sky Sports for the boxing (and I don't know how much that is going to last on there). I can't even bring myself to watch England games, apart from at the major championships, when I tend to watch as many games as possible. I just cannot stand the way the game has gone financially and how cheating has become part of the game, from players diving and cheating to managers exerting pressure on officials at every opportunity. But it's mainly the financial thing that gets me. What happened to the people's game eh?

I've digressed. Yes, I will be getting a season ticket if I continue to remain in the wife's good books (or if I find a job) and would be delighted if I'm still watching a team managed by Flicker, whatever the division.

If we go down I will probably still get mine. I feel more upbeat about BFC than any time in the last few years, which seems odd given our position. If we went down and didn't appoint Flicker I'd have reservations. They have to give Flicker a proper crack at it.

    Re: Also

Regardless of what division I still would renew. Barnsley is my club, I love them. I enjoy meeting up with Biglil and Jedi before a game... having a chat etc. These are my Saturdays and football helps me let of steam.
