well they could allus say if the stub is kept then it could be used as a discount voucher for the first home game next season, whats wrong wi that then
Make it £5 and lose shitloads of money as only 12,000 fans turn up. No thanks. It's pretty much our cup final, if people can't part with £20 for such an important game, I don't see what else the club can do to entice them back without going bust.
I get that, and share your view. But we'll lose a shed load more money by going down. It's not about revenue on the day for me, it's about creating the best atmosphere we can
Attendances don't win points though, despite what our lovely neighbours think. The way I see it, this is our cup final, it's £20, what more motivation should our fans need to get off their arse and support their team?
I agree. As I said on another thread I'm normally against this sort of thing but we need to do a bit more to entice people back for this particular game.
Ah well, hypothetical anyway really. Won't happen. I think more will turn out tbh. But prob only an extra 2k max I reckon
I just don't understand why we need to entice them if they're genuine BFC fans. It's bloody massive enough as it is.
One very simple thing they could do that might bring a few extra folk in ( and I only mean a few, but better than nowt) is scrap that bloody £20-if-you-buy-in-advance thing. Still puts a few off. Really easy - £20 at the turnstile. A crisp £20 note, not faffing around with pound coins, change, floats and that. Just £20 on the gate. Every gate.
£20 is a very reasonable price. If you care about Barnsley and aren't in trying financial services I think it's a great price for such a huge game
