Teams was winning around us and we've been drawing.

Yes, the away points at Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Forest are wonderful but that draw against Derby may have just done us. Even if we finish level on points with a number of sides, that hammering at home to Charlton could ruin us.

Us and Wolves and rebuild next season.

I was at the game today and most games this year, and have never been so proud to be a Reds supporter under Flitcroft.

I'm not meaning to put a dampener on a good 0-0 draw but I'm not getting my hopes on 'Mission Impossible'.

The worst results next week are for us to lose and Peterborough and Wolves to both win. That would all but relegate us on goal difference.

If we lose and one or both of Peterborough and Wolves get a point, then we'd have to win against Huddersfield and have one of them lose against Brighton or Palace. At the start of Jan, i'd have taken that.

The best result is for us to win and one or both of Peterborough and Huddersfield to lose. That would mean a point vs. Huddersfield would be enough to stay up. Again, most fans would have snapped your hand off for that after Hill had managed his last game.

I still think we have a good chance especially with Peterborough's last 2 games being Wednesday and Palace. Who knows, even a point might be enough ;)

Thats the first point of 7 and survival. Young un was saying today that he thinks were gonna go down and i said we could lose Forest and Hull and still stay up.

You cant predict anything in this league. teams around us are winning??? Who won today.

Its stil a possibility we could go into game with Huddersfield with both of us only needing a draw

I have looked at this from all sides and I keep changing my mind, but here is what I think...

Brighton will beat Wolves and Palace will beat PBoro but...
Wolves should beat Burnley so it will come down to Pboro v Sheff Weds.
So if Wednesday beat PBoro thats the posh down for sure.

I thought last week that 4 points wouldn't be enough and I still think that. But having got 1 point today another 4, with the sequence of results above, would see us safe.

Hope we don't have to go through this again though. Total agony.

And just remember, 50% of the season with Flicker as boss and 50% of the season with Hill. Its quite clear who is responsible for the situation that we find ourselves in.

Wednesday need to beat Posh next week to make sure so if we get a result, which I think we will, then it's all to play for in the last game. I still think we can do it.

Not even 50:50, hill got 25 games, so flicker only got about 45% of the season. And has achieved 59% of our points, with two of his 45% of games to go. Hill, 0.84 points per game. Flicker, 1.58 ppg. If he'd had the whole season, and had achieved the same points ratio, we'd be on 69 points, 4th in the fecking league.

Even if we lose the next two, which I'm convinced we won't, flickers points per game would still be 1.43. Over a season that'd be about 66 points - so it surely has to be the case, relegated or not, that flicker be begged to stay on bended knee and offered whatever terms necessary to ensure that he does.

For those that don't like stats, one more point. Team under hill, lacked direction, lacked belief, at times looked poor for league one. Under flicker they have heart, belief, are competitive and have never stopped trying. Who have you preferred to support?

If David Flitcroft is allowed to leave this football club it will be a travesty of the highest order. I'd love for next season to be in the championship, but if we do go down, I can't think of a single person I'd prefer in charge of the team, not one person I'd rather rebuild the squad after inevitable departures.

Yes we were down at Christmas - 21 points from 25 games and rock bottom of the table
2 games to go and we are still in with a chance and with a points total that any normal season would assure safety Flitcroft has done an amazing job - will be absolutely gutted if we go down after the effort we have made - much worse than had we just carried on and been down at Easter

Worrying thing is we havent sorted out any contracts yet so if we go down the backbone of the squad will be gone and possibly the manager - somehow if we do go down we need to keep Flicker and most of the out of contract players - but I dont think we will - definitely not the players - Maybe Flicker but I am not sure

Totally agree. We have to keep thi management team. With a lack of direction from the board flicker is the only person giving the club a sense of purpose and identity and meaning.

Can't see that many of the out of contract players being too sought after...Cranie is probably the exception

Unfortunately so do I. Not that I'd put a single ounce of blame on the manager or the players. I think they've been fantastic since the turn of the year. Everything I want from a football team they've produced. It's just a barmy year and I fear we're going to be the unlucky ones.

I couldn't be more proud of the players though. I've been supporting Barnsley over 30 years and I hope to be supporting Barnsley for another at least another 30. In that time I'll see numerous Barnsley teams that will coast to safety without showing half the heart that this current side have given.

I'm immensely proud of them all. The effort since Jan 1st has been almost super human. The team will rebuild, but we must, must, must, keep flicker
