John Beresford wasn't a Barnsley academy graduate. We signed him when he was 20. Forgot all about Chris Morgan though.
interested in all football. it's different in watching first team football. I'm interested how different football clubs develop. Normally you have parents there who are crazy and they are on the tipping edge. They say things they shouldn't. Somethings you can say , somethings you can't. It's good when you see a player at youth level and then see then on TV for a big team. Adam Campbells one of them.
Think you're a bit harsh on RNL there, he's had a few chances and that but he was thrown in way before he was anywhere near ready at 15. He's only 19 now I think so he's still got time, been injured most of the season too so you can't just expect him to come in and rip Forest apart after doing a sterling job v Derby.
If we're being pedantic about it, no graduate from Barnsley academy has ever played top flight football. The ones that have since I've been watching football: David Speedie, Ian Banks, Mick McCarthy, David Hirst, Carl Tiler, (Steve Agnew possibly) and Chris Morgan all came through the old northern intermediate system long before the academy was built.
Our Hemmler is just a product of his generation, he is sort of the Hello magazine correspondent of football - always on the look out for the next big, trendy fashionable thing so he can say he was there first. It's not his fault, I blame my generation if anyone. We did this to them, it's our fault they all have big, fat, sweaty spotty arses as well, for feeding them all that internet, satellite tv and shitty computer games. There is no concept of time and continuity, it is all about disposability and renewal. This is why he doesn't like Bobby Hassell or Luke Steele, because they were at the club before he started coming and are old hat and past their sell by dates.
