its the time of year when those clubs who are safe start looking to cherry pick from the ones who arent. Perkins, Cranie, Dawson, Mellis all will have attracted attention, guaranteed. Read today that Leeds new manager McDermott has drawn up a list already. Lets hope their allegiance to Flitcroft out weighs what their agents are telling them so performances dont dip just when we need them.

Whether we stay in the championship or not I suspect we'll have a very different looking squad when the first ball of the 2013/14 season is kicked in August.

If we go down I'd expect the following to leave:

    Dawson
    Perkins
    Steele
    Harewood
    Scotland
    Mellis
    Cywka
    Cranie
    Edwards

I wouldn't be surprised to see many of them go regardless to be honest.

I can't see Steele being here. I can't imagine Done, Scotland, Edwards, Cranie or Harewood being here and I'm also quite doubtful whether Foster or McNulty will be offered deals too.

I can see Kennedy being offered a longer deal and I think there is a year extension for Etuhu that the club can activate (and same for Cywka?). Hassell will be offered something (if only for a positive PR story).

Can't we convince someone to take McNulty as well?

    Just to balalnce it up...

    Squad still under contract

    GK's: Alnwick, Lidakevacius
    Defenders: Wiseman, Jones, Golbourne
Midfield: Perkins, Dawson, Mellis, O'Brien, RNL, (Cywka & Etuhu if clauses activated), Digby, Silva, Clark
    Strikers: Dagnall, Rose

Not terrible but lacking in defenders (obviously some players could re-sign who are out of contract) and a clearout in that area may not be the worst thing in the world

Depends if they have a contract clause

which it seems is pretty much mandatory for all our signings.

That's got to be the priority, getting Flicker on board for another couple of years.

Doesn't Cranie have a year option thing too? If not I reckon he could be moved on regardless of what division we're in, just to free up the wage bill as he's on of the top earners.

From the out of contract lot, I can see us keeping Foster, Hassell, Harewood, Kennedy, Etuhu, McNulty and maybe Scotland. Sadly, I think Cranie leave if we go down, just as he did at Coventry. Done and Edwards will leave. If Steele gets an offer of first-team football in the Championship, I think he'll take it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Cywka didn't want to stick around in League One.

We'll attract interest for Dawson, Mellis and Perkins, but I can see the latter sticking around. The most important thing is that we keep hold of Flitcroft. Even if we do go down, he'll still have done a cracking job here, and he'll be key to which of the players we keep hold of.

We still have a good chance of staying up, so fingers crossed!

Hardly any I would have thought. Our team is far better than the sum of its parts. Very few of our players would feature regularly for other championship teams. We're all hard work with limited skill. There's not many teams in our division that want that.

    McNulty to stay? No ta.

I'd also be amazed if Cywka gets another Championship club. Very inconsistent.

Flicker would destroy anyone in his path, in league 1

I didn't say I wanted him to stay, but I can see it happening. I agree regarding Cywka, but he doesn't strike me as a player that would stick around.

McNulty would probably look a world beater in League 1. It's absolute $hite.

Twas always thus. This is why few prosper away from the comfortable, if not perfectly formed, bosom of Oakwell.
