Did anyone else join in Record shop day and spend too much money. If so what did you get? I went for the big star album, low/dirty three ep and an orange juice album. Very happy
great idea, but i hate queues, confined spaces and crowds. so opted against it. where did you go? crash, jumbo?
NO ! i got a bit of a downer on it actually , don''t get me wrong the sentiment is great and without it many many people would never set foot in a record shop all year.... however... £7.99 for a 7" single, £15 for a 12"....... costly and elitist that only end up on ebay for 100's of pounds , im not having it. my local record shop is pretty cool however..... 2 of the best things in the world..... pie and vinyl............ ive got an idea www.pieandvinyl.co.uk
I don't even know where my nearest record shop is unfortunately. I have to buy all my music from amazon these days.
I did, though I cheated and bought online, but then I was busy at the football on Saturday! I got both the Biffy 7", though had to order from abroad so the postage ended up more than the records themselves, but I own everything else they've released so had to complete the set! Fair few I'm waiting for to appear on banquet records this Saturday. Wanted to get the Dazed and Confused soundtrack, loads of cracking 70s stuff, want the Live Deftones release plus the re-release of Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit
I live just outside Barnsley town centre. If you know a record shop that sells thrash and death metal albums nearby then I'll be in like a shot.
I agree really pompey red and record sshop should be about leisurely browsing, chatting with the owner about music and trying to pick up a bargain which is everything record store day does not promote. However there was stuff I really wanted so I went along to jumbo about eleven o'clockm. Had a thoroughly nice time, queued for an hour, had a freshly brewed coffee whilst doing so and listened to a pretty good live band. Also a nice buzz about the place.
all independent record shops will order for you if its released and distributed, theres loads in yorkshire
I got the Barsteward Sons of Val Doonican very limited release (200 pressed). Paid a tenner must be worth at least a fiver now.
I use a company called That's Entertainment for my cds on line. Cheap prices and free delivery. Never been let down yet. Give them a try.
I'm coming down for the game on Saturday and was wondering does Barnsley have a second hand record/cd store in the town centre? If so could someone tell me where about. Thanks in advance
I'd love to buy music in Town but can't buy an album unless it's in Morrisons. Jim's records on Racecommon road is worth a visit.
