99% of it is spelt with a silent 'c' but the other 1% can be quite good.

Depends what you are listening to.

Modern rap music is piss poor all about hoes and dough.

When the genre first came to the fore, the raw anger of public enemy and naw or the imfectious enthusiasms of the sugar hill gang or grandmaster flash cannot be beaten.

Some of them are pretty talented. Eminem is pretty good, some of his lyrics are very clever.

It's the ones who's 'raps' all sound the same, in every song, and are just made up of a lot of names and places that annoy me. Nicky Minaj is the worst, and her voice grinds my gears. And her face. And her ridiculously over silicone'd rear end.

I like a lot of rap from the late 80s and through the 90s (Public Enemy, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Smif n Wessun, Black Moon, Mobb Deep etc) but after 2000 most of it became too pop/R&B orientated

I've got loads of old rap.

2pac, Ice Cube, NWA, Public Enemy, Dre, Snoop etc.

Don't really listen to it anymore, though.

Was obsessed with Ice Cube's Death Certificate album when I was at school.

First impression was novel..but not to my taste..then I heard a few more that sounded OK..then we got to the stage where it had run out of steam and the artists just took the hook from an old song and added a rap in between....I've got to say though never has a popular music genre(if thats the right expression)lasted so long, which is beyond me.
