To those of you who booed Dickie Bird today

You are cnuts of the highest order especially the one s I had a word with who waited for their mates to come back from bogs before they dare say at back you know who you are and you know who I am and I'll be there next season. As I said to you and i repeat in case you didn't hear when you made your way to the field at full time and started mouthing as you walked away you are low life coward scum.

 

Why would anyone boo Dickie?

Can't understand the mentality of some #*!~ who go to our games.

 

if they boo'd dickie then they are ****s. If they boo'd him on such a good day they are huge ****s. If they need all their mates to back them up because they are little scared girls then that makes them worse than sheffield united fans. Total scum. And if they are on here man up and admit it so you can tell everyone why you'd boo a man who sits through 90% of home games.

 

Tbf there weren't many but the ones that did are low lifes IMO especially the idiots near me who started threatening when I told them exactly what I thought . Although there were one or two ready to jump at them if they had started.

 

They're ill educated knuckle dragging morons and they probably couldn't give a decent reason why they were booing if they were asked. #braindead .

 

Oh they were asked Mario in no uncertain terms but as you say they had no answer just threats and they stopped that when they knew I weren't backing down

 

Dickie is one Individual who only gives out positive vibes about Barnsley and its environs. The people who bood him are a disgrace to the Club and Town.

 

I find this astonishing. I've met him at Oakwell a couple of times and he's always come across as a really friendly, down-to-earth bloke. He's passionate about Barnsley and loyal to his team. He's been awarded an OBE for services to cricket and charity and the freedom of Barnsley.

Even if that weren't all the case, as of just over a week ago he's an octogenarian. Fancy grown men booing an 80-year-old. They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Well if you were one of the people near me you'll know who I am and I did not abuse you when I asked you why you were doing it and there was no need for the threats ( not that I was all that intimidated)

Personally I'm not convinced about the first half of that sentence but I accept that's a contentious view. I'm pretty sure the second half is ****** though.

 

I've met him at restaurants several times, and he's been rude and obnoxious to the staff i know. Also i don't like the fact he only shows up for the 'big' games or the tv games. Nothing against his accolades, which are all admirable but personally i don't like him.

 

Well you've just expressed your opinion how you like.

 

Pretty much the same. From the same village has him and encounters with him he has been up his own arse, generally rude and arrogant.
