That's the main thing isn't it. I was pissed off earlier when SWFC lost but mellowed now. To be in this position after the the Posh game on NYD is nothing short of fantastic.
I've just got in from work and had a look at the table, it's calmed me down a bit. Wednesday losing just means we need a win down rather than a draw. It also means Huddersfield still have something to play for too.
For it to be in our own hands on the last day is a outstanding achievement...and as much as we could have asked for..
There was a lot of talk from everyone about would you take needing a win on the final day to stay up. The responses were pretty mixed. Prior to the Charlton game I'd have said no but after the Derby game I'd have snapped your hand off. Credit to the players. Really picked themselves up after the 6-0. Unbeaten since.
We would all have taken that on Jan 1st but and its a big but to get to 54 points and still need a win for survival is just bizarre 54 points should be job done and dusted I will be totally gutted if we go down now
I'm immensely proud of the effort since Jan 1st, win lose or draw against Huddersfield. Flicker is the man to take us forward, no matter what. I'm as confident as I can be, that the Club will offer him a deal to stay, even if we go down. You just have to hope he accepts
In a way it's good, focuses the mind. We go to Huddersfield for a win. None of this 'a point will do' uncertainty
Mick McCarthy's interview yesterday...jokingly said he wouldn't have taken the Ipswich job, if he'd had known they would need 60 points for survival..
