The Boy & Barrel is the designated away pub on saturday and will be the only pub opening for away fans at 9am.

Please note other pubs in Huddersfield town centre will be serving home fans only and will have a robust door policy.

Huddersfield Town will be selling alcohol inside the ground pre-match and may continue to do so at at half time.

Away fans can use the pay and display car park on St Andrews Rd, five minutes walk from from the ground.

How **** that us who know fans of our opponents and would like pre match banter with friends/family/colleagues/neighbours etc don't have a neutral pub. Oh well find a way.

You are in the minority though, the Police couldn't do anything else. Surprised we've got a pub.

It's not a pub it's a dive, surprised you didn't add that dreamboy.
    No real ale.
I'll be going nowhere near the Boy and (Flaming) Barrel.

Yeah probably go to Yorkshire Rose for a kid friendly pub. They allow away fans in there with shirts on for Rugby League games so may not be a problem. Plus it's not in the centre. Might just ring up the landlord Duncan to make sure.

Yeah when you walk along Wakefield Road and turn right it's still there. It's got a massive Premier Inn built on the car park though so parking there is now into the car park the other side of it by Sainsburys and walk over the bridge into the side door. Kid friendly too. Duncan who runs Yorkshire Rose (similar food/drink/friendly pub further towards the ground) was landlord there for years. Top bloke. I'm sure that as long as people keep a low profile in small quiet groups and no shirts showing it should be ok.

Give them both a ring and see what they say.

Last away game at Huddersfield I went in the Rat & Ratchett. Admitidely being a night game and me coming straight from work I didn't look like I was heading to a game. Generally just don't wear colours openly for an away game - and also real ale pubs generally attract a decent crowd. Been in Old No 7 before BFC games with away fans and no hint of trouble.

Also those wanting a pre match burger don't pay over the odds in the away end. Go to Snooties at top of St Andrews Road a few doors down from Top Spot snooker club. Beautiful half pound cheeseburgers with chips for around 2.50 and decent kebabs/pizzas too.

Where's the best place for burger and custard?

To explain - we went to a league game a few years back (not the play off game) and outside the ground went to a burger van, and I kid you not, a Huddersfield fan in front of is had burger and custard!

Henceforth my mates and I refer to Huddersfield Town as "burger and custard eaters"

Too right pal :) Been going in there about 17 years. The owner Raj is a top bloke. Rarely in that one though. Usually see him serving as an hands on owner at the other shop at Queensgate Market entrance. I remember back in the day when for six quid you could get the Meal Deal of........

    Any nine inch pizza.
    Quarter pound cheeseburger and chips.
    Small donner kebab.
    Any can of pop.

Smartened it up too since Raj bought the newsagents former premises next door and knocked the wall down to put seats in.
