I'm going to bet on every outcome that could see us relegated as insurance.

Didn't realise Posh were the only team we could put down with a draw.

If we lose or if we draw and Peterboro win or draw. That's it. Not sure the pay out would be much on any of them to make it worthwhile...I'd just feel dirty.

Against what? Disappointment? You are obviously not too concerned about the Reds, if you have to ask the scenarios. Can't you just look at the table, there's only one game left?

If a 4/6 or 8/11 is going to make you feel better, get it lumped on.

I stuck a fiver on us to get promoted the day after we lost in the first leg of the play offs against Huddersfield. Paid for my Play off final ticket that did.

I never bet against the Reds, immoral - like stealing out of your Mam's purse. The Reds have won me over £300 since new year, paid for a lot of matches. That 2/1 on a Reds win on Saturday is looking very tasty too!!

That's different though - you were backing them.

When we got promoted to Premier I tried to get odds on us avoiding relegation but no bookies would do it.

We will be odds against to beat Huddersfield and odds against to stay up. Would any bookies be daft enough to offer odds for a combination of the two. I.e. if we are 2/1 to beat Huddersfield and 2/1 to stay up, would they offer 4/1 for us to win and stay up, not realising that the two events are basically the same? Being a mere amateur gambler I have no idea whether any bookie would fall for such a scam!

We are currently 1.8 (4/5) for relegation on Betfair, and 1.82 to lay (not be relegated). For comparison, Wolves are 1.04/1.06, Peterborough are 2.64/2.84, Weds are 13.5/15, Millwall are 20/24 and Huddersfield are 21/26.

I have been trying to work out if I could back Hudds to go down and lay on the individual results needed as an arb (Barnsley/Millwall/Weds/Peterborough victories), but it made my head hurt.

I'm pretty sure most bookies maths are a heap better than yours. 2/1 and 2/1 for the same outcome isn't possible, but for either of two outcomes it would, mathematically, be 6/4. Though I doubt any bookmaker would offer you better than Evs / 11/10

    None

Once we've beaten Huddersfield then we're safe. Stop worrying.

How much is available to lay Wolves at 1.06 to stop up? better return than a bank and safer I'd say. Your second point is a good one. i'm going to check it out brb.

    Re: None

could have a bet on Huddersfield to be relegated 20 -1

or bet barnsley, posh, wednesday and millwall to win at 39-1 which is the only way huddersfield could be relegated

Ok its two lines because there's two scenarios for the Millwall games that puts them above Huddersfield. Basically you are getting 64/1 on the four timer, but split stakes so 32/1 and the exchanges lay is 26/1 for Huddersield, so yes you make, but there is so little available on the exchange its impractical. however if you really believe Huddersfield will go down, do not back them at single odds. Do two 4 timers, one with Millwall winning and one drawing at 47% and 53% of stake. you will get 32/1. Most bookies single odds are 20/1.
