"It's the biggest game of my career. If we go down then it is on my shoulders and people could lose their jobs. I'm finding it difficult to comprehend that." It's not on your shoulders lad. It's on the shoulders of Cryne and that other bloke who had the job before.
You need to let it go, not good for you. Sad about Jeff Hanneman. Not my cup of tea, but certainly a pioneer.
When he was appointed caretaker he was part of the problem and shouldn't have stayed. Now he's got no responsibility at all for the period before January. Weird football int it?
Flicker did state in an interview that he wanted to go with 3 at the back, but hill thought we didn't have time to learn it and wanted to wait until after an international break. Thats just one example of Hill making the decisions. Do yo actually believe that Ficker decided over night to play etuhu in the middle and bring Kennedy back into the team. More likely they were ideas knocked back by Hill
I thought he said that 3 at the back was Keith's idea but he wanted to have a week to practice it - Flitcroft just brought that forward because 'he had nothing to lose'
I think you're right Dyson and Conan is just a nutter. If we stay up it will all be down to Keith Hill and we're only in this perilous position with a game to go because of the balls up Flitcroft has made.
Not saying that. At all. I just find it interesting how attitudes to Flitcroft have shifted in the past 3 months. He was still part of the management team before January though and when he was appointed he was seen as part of the problem. Maybe he was and he's learned - fair enough.
Some interesting views here on Flitcroft... http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?180824-Alan-Biggs&highlight=Flitcroft http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?180905-Flitcroft&highlight=Flitcroft http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?181991-Craig-Hignett&highlight=Flitcroft http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?181301-Neil-Redfearn&highlight=Flitcroft http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...u-try-an-seperate-the-duo&highlight=Flitcroft
Of course attitudes towards Flitcroft have changed. He was second in command to the worst manager in the history of our club in terms of results. A manager who couldn't even average a point per game. A manager who routinely and vindictively bad mouthed the club, the town and the supporters. In my opinion an utterly appalling man. And it wasn't a partnership of circumstance. They came as a team, they'd been working together for years, they were best mates. Of course Barnsley fans were wary of Flitcroft. How could they not be? Since he's been in charge he's shown he's nothing like Keith Hill both in terms of how his football team perform and how he conducts himself in interviews. His team wins games and he's a nice bloke. Barnsley fans have rightly warmed to him to the point where he's as popular a manager as I can ever remember. People have changed their minds. I never knew that changing your mind was such a terrible thing, but it appears from what you're saying it is. I guess you've never done it.
People aren't changing their mind. They're forgetting what they felt when he was appointed. People that were saying he was part of the problem and they came as a pair are now adamant that all the decisions were Keith's and the poor we were on was in no way down to Flitcroft. Change your mind, feel free to - just don't pretend you've always felt that way.
