Still on talking about his love of the fans and what a great day it was for Yorkshire. Didn't say he would or wouldn't sign but he is continuing to show what a great man he is. Dan Walker and Savage are loving him.
Fan almost in tears talking to Flicker praising him for the job he's done. Wants his autograph for his six year old daughter. Told Flicker to sign up and Flicker brought up how the club can't keep fighting a relegation battle. Brought up Huddersfield were relegated for 67 minutes. Both sets of fans being a credit especially after a couple of the stories of the past few weeks. Said he wanted to leaves us when his best friend was sacked and trusted nobody at the club as knives were out but got to bring in Scott/Melon. Top interview.
"Trusted nobody at the club" WOW. What have you learnt Keith, "politics" Clean sweep needed above him.
Can you get 606 replay on IPlayer? Thought his radio Sheffield interview was excellent. Proper welled up when he spoke about spending an hour with his dad.
What an amazing interview - great piece of radio - I was just coming off the M1 at Brent Cross when it was on and it really capped a truly amazing day for me. Thank you Flicker, you made my ****ing day.
I heard that on the M1 as well - Patrick - listen to him he is absolutely spot on he has to be given a chance - he has he ambition and I think he is realistic enough to know what the club can afford to do - just make sure he gets the chance to try
If you missed it its on iplayer - link here flicker from 14 minutes in http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01s844g
Big week coming up, if we lose Flicker then we'll go backwards and the rot will set in again IMO. FFS Don and Pat don't **** this up.
Thank you so much for that Farnham. What an amazing piece of radio. Some telling comments too. Pi55ing myself about the fan talking about 'Mr Ron Dowing' though!
Guy should easily be given two million to help us push on. If we are to believe we get 4 million from Cup/Stones/Davies that won't have to be used now for league one, plus season ticket sales, shirt sales etc it shouldn't be too much to give him that.
£4m? Try closer to £6m income above the budget in the last 12 months. £1m unbudgeted for for Butterfield £3m unbudgeted for for Stones £1m (minimum) unbudgeted for from the cup run £500k unbudgeted for Davies
To be fair I don't Flicker thinks its particularly about spending money. It's having a strategy, and listening to what the manager tells them. Whether that be player sales, who to offer contracts to, who the back room staff are, realising the playing and coaching staff are the most important people at the club. Investing in the future by tieing players to contracts.
You dont have to be the owner of a football club to see that Flitcroft and his team of miracle workers need and deserve a contract. Flitcroft understands the limitations he is working under, but i dont think he's expecting a massive amount of money to spend in the close season, he just wants the backing to move us forward and away from relegation battles.
