Maybe so but if we get in early like we did with Davies who's to know what could happen. Wells and O'Grady would be a quality front line in my eyes
He will probably end up at a Championship club as a lot of sides have been linked with him. League Two to the Champ is a massive step up though, I wouldn't want us to waste too much effort trying to get him as he would need a lot of time to adjust and I don't think we can afford to carry players in games until they get up to speed. That's another reason why we mustn't lose anybody we want to keep - 2012 was the learning curve for a lot of these players and you can't really accuse anyone of not being Championship standard any more. If the squad is ripped apart and we have to rebuild in a similar way then we are going to struggle again. In terms of forwards, I'm happy with Dagnall, we definitely need to get something in place for O'Grady sooner rather than later. After that, I'd take inspiration from the 96/97 side - we've got a core of youngish players who I'm happy are good enough to start moving away from being a bottom third side, we should be looking at experienced players coming to the end of their careers looking to play first team football - like Kevin Phillips.
I'd rather have a hungry young player like Wells that wants to prove himself at a higher level instead of someone thats coming to the end of their career and looking for a final pay day.
Would be a fantastic signing I think, for the club and the lad. Exactly the kind of player we should be trying for while our stock is up a bit.
My Bradford supporting mate doesn't rate him that highly and reckons he would be making a big mistake moving to the championship just now. Apparently his first touch is terrible and though he is fast he has little skill and is anonymous most of the time during games. I appreciate his comments but he looks a real live wire to me and the sort of player who can score from nothing as he did today with the first goal.
yeah but bradford don't have david flitcroft. flicker would galvanise him into a special human being and create memories. that's what are dave does
I'd love to see him at Barnsley given the service he could be a 20 goal a season striker but my mate doesn't agree and he's seen him play week in week out this season!
