It;s not about humour - your two posts both show your hatred, not humour.

Although the one about Fergie Time is bloody hilarious in an ironic manner!

Very best of luck to him in his retirement. I don't follow Man Utd, so all the success he's had there doesn't mean that much to me, but the things he's done for our football club do.

The advice he's given our managers over the years, the teams he's brought to our testimonials, the players he's loaned us.

I remember a time when Gudjon Thordarson was our manager. We were struggling for strikers, so we gave Ferguson a ring hoping to loan a particular player. Ferguson asked who our other striker would be and when he learnt it was Stallard he recommended we take Nardiello rather than the player Gudjon was after. We played Blackpool the following evening and won 3-0 with Nardiello grabbing two and Stallard notching his one and only goal for Barnsley. Nardiello went on to score some of the most important goals in our recent history. I doubt he would have ever been here if it wasn't for that recommendation by Ferguson.

David Flitcroft still often speaks about how Ferguson phoned him up, out of the blue, when Flicker was confirmed as our manager. I don't know what Ferguson said to him that day, but I do know it meant the world to Flicker and helped give him the confidence that he really could do the job. He was, in his words, "buzzing" after that call.

A lot of people hate Alex Ferguson, but I've never really understood that. He's extremely successful for a team we rarely have anything to do with. They're certainly not our rivals. But he's done some very decent things for our club over the years and I would be very surprised if fans from other smaller clubs couldn't tell similar stories.

Hope he has a long and happy life.

Spot on Jay, l cannot understand the hatred. He once wrote about how he liked our club in his programme notes due to how good we were to his brother when he played at the 'well. He's also loaned us a lot of decent players over the years.

    Can't see beyond Mourinho myself.

It's his dream job and if he continues his success stories, then why would he leave in a short space of time?

Are saying that David Moyes is in pole position to replace Sir Alex.

Moyes has zero Champions League experience so I would say he's not the man.......but you never know.

I think it's Mourinho nailed on.

Maybe they won't mind Moyes lack of Champions League experience if Phelan is kept on as assistant. Just a thought
