Foster - I am genuinely staggered by that decision.

Really, really shocked. Flitcroft hasn't got much wrong, but this is a serious mistake. Appalling. I'll go as far as saying that if he'd been on the pitch on Saturday, we'd not have conceded that second goal. Incredibly sad day for Barnsley Football Club.

If this is due to flicker calling the shots before he signs on - I'm with it 100%. Fozzie is a pro, but flicker knows best

By freeing up EDWARDS and FOSTER's wages, the manager has created the finance to recruit a dominant centre half, a position that really does need filling.

If we can stop conceding goals from set play crosses next season that will be worth 10 points on our total.

Having said that Stephen Foster has been a great servant to BFC and I wish him well for the future.

I was always a Fozzie fan...think he;s been great for us..but..if we are to climb the table,we need better, then he, and he as to be replaced by better....excellent show of strength by flicker..and also, I would guess PC as said that he will back him, but to do that, players must be moved out...

I've always been behind Foster but in Flicker we trust!

I presume he was one of our top earners and although he contributes a lot, we're not getting our moneys worth. I'm sure Flicker has everything planned out, I'm already looking forward to next season!

I am gutted and saddened to see Fozzy leave but I have to trust Flicker. I really think Fozzy had another season or two in him at this level.

Not gutted, but confused. I just hope we have his replacement lined up already because McNulty doesn't fill me with confidence.

Very confused. Now were short of a defence as it is.

For me Foster is a quality dependable Championship defender, came as a right back where he was solid but moved to cb.

The question is how much would a similar player cost us?

Funny that cos I allus thought Foster was a regular in a defence that shipped goals. Considering his age its the right decision.

Steve Foster has been a good and loyal servant to the club and all Barnsley supporters must surely wish him well in the rest of his career. In games which feature a big, static forward who has no pace but plenty of strength, he still has much to offer. However, the teams boasting such players are getting fewer. What is more common these days is forwards with plenty of movement and pace. In these games, Foster has struggled this season, and his struggles are bound to increase as he gets further into his thirties. In spite of my gratitude to Foster for his past performance, I think that it is the correct decision.

I thought he had at least another season in him.

Gutted really, but onwards & upwards. Thanks Fozzie.

Im extremely pis*ed off that fozzy is being let go while mcnulty stays. Mcnulty is BY FAR the worst player we have, and to offer him a new deal is laughable at best...

Just a thought. Foz has been with us for some time. He'll have been on decent coin. I hope this isn't (just) a case of ditching expensive players

Although I'm gutted to see him go, it's the right decision. We let too many goals in, have done for years. Cranie is better than Foster, so if we're going to improve it has to be Foster that goes. Keeping McNulty and Wiseman makes more sense because they've got years left in them, Foster doesn't have that unfortunately. Good luck to him in the future, class act.

Lets not write off Mcnullty. Agreed he has had a poor season. But If he stay injury free I'm sure flicker can get the best out of him, just like he has with wiseman

It's possible, but wiseman was twice the player mcnulty is even when he had his bad games.

I will say this, if he tells mcnulty to just boot the ball away or pass it short, just do things quickly, might be ok, it's when he has to use his head that the problems arise

For the record, by "use his head" I mean think, not head the ball
