offer them a one off half price season ticket? The club would easily be able to identify last season ticket holders applying for this offer.

Lots of comments on this suggestion, I am sure but if we all want bigger crowds at Oakwell aren't things like this worth considering?

Why should those who can't be arsed going to Oakwell get a discount over those who make the effort?

That's just how the large media companies work such as Sky, Virgin etc. It really pisses me off cos it does not encourage committment which is what you are looking for, more the opposite. The current offer is already good value and the club should be applauded for it. If next season is a continuum of the last then the crowds will come back.

Maybe we should also throw in a free pie every game from Lindley's, and a scoop of Acorn Ale?

Fev rovers increased average attendance and ST holder by more than 1000 by using allowing Current season ticket holders to recommend a friend at a discount rate.

The friend must not have had a season ticket in the past 2 years.

it does work, once some gets a season ticket I think its hard to give it up the season after so they buy full price.

I wouldn't have a problem with any scheme to get more fans in

Wouldn't work, people would abuse it. For example, instead of me renewing, I'll could get our lass to take out a new season ticket at half price and then I could use that.

People already abuse the free child season ticket. Other week a mate took his two kids to the match and whilst at the pay turnstile was approached by two separate people offering to sell them a kids ST stub for £5 each. Makes you wonder if these same people hang around and tout these tickets at most matches. The original kid owner of the ticket probably never goes to a match.

I'm all for getting people back but I don't see why fans who haven't bothered should be rewarded while loyal fans who go week in week out still pay full price. I'm not sure it would work with some so called fans either as recent history shows no amount of financial incentive will bring some stay away fans back.
