was talking to rotherham fans in pub other day and said foster done and herewood would be fantastic signings for them at the level
That's a far cry from his proposed move to palace last summer. Although id say league 1 is about his level, and he's got valuable championship experience now, could do a job for Rotherham in that division.
Can you please send in another post, supplying you home address. I am sure Mr Done would like to pay you a visit to thank you for your comments.
Seriously? If a specialist skill is hiding from the ball and doing your best to have no impact whatsoever, then yes, I think he's great. Did well in a small handful of games when he wasn't scared shitless of the opposing full-back and he'd come on as a sub.
So a bloke who Dougie Freedman wanted to sign for a side that's made it to the play offs is *****. Aye, alright lads. Unlucky this season - injured at the wrong time, couldn't force his way back in and lost his way. I'd have kept him but with Golbourne, Lazarus & Kennedy and us seemingly playing 3-5-2 it didn't fit. Hope he does well. Thought he could've been a good player for us. The end of last season a lot of people were saying he was one of the better signgin
I thought I read somewhere that Freedman denied ever being interested? Could be wrong but I find the decision not to sell him if there was genuine interest staggering. When you make no impression in the SPL and the fans over there think you're poor, chances are you probably are.
Point taken, but I'd say there's a pretty clear difference between the impact Vaz Te had with us, and the impact Done had. It would have been highway robbery if we'd got that money from Palace for Done. I don't remember too many players hiding from the ball more than he did. A few good appearances as a substitute, but he had no impact whatsoever on far too many games.
Sorry mate, wasn't implying he had as big an impact, just countering your point about Scottish football. I think he was incredibly unlucky. We were obviously going for a system this season with wingers and had injury problems early season out wide. We rejected the bid for that reason & then he got injured that same game. You're then playing catch up all the way through. Same with O'Brien this season for me - forced into a system that obviously doesn't suit him. You could argue that it was incredibly difficult for any attacking player post January - just look at how many goal Davies got in that period. I think he could've been a good player with a bit more luck/patience. And the manager who won more points than any other in this league last season agreed.
Fair enough. I still know I got frustrated with him consistently when he was hiding from the ball/running away from the ball at every opportunity. If Flitcroft didn't deem him worth keeping, then I'm certainly happy with that assessment.
