Have left us for peanuts and thought they would take the prem by storm, both have done nothing and were no fire at Barnsley. Shame really

Huge shame, Butterfield would have been better staying with us after the injury to find his form again. Would have been different had he not got injured I'm sure.

Hammill I don't blame really, just picked the wrong club who never gave him a chance.

Far, far, FAR too early to write off Butterfield.

The number of players that struggle when they don't have a pre-season is massive. If he struggles for the next 2 seasons, then fine - but I don't think he will.

I can't remember reading anything anywhere that stated that they thought they would take the premiership by storm.......you just made that up to suit.

Butterfield's big season is next season once he has a full, injury free summer. Not fair to judge him on this season as he missed most of pre-season.

im sure the pair of them don't really give a flying f**k to be honest, they played well for us , owe us nothing and are quite happy taking a wage at the end of the week

butterfield will be ok as he seems to want to do well, and better himself, he has the talent to do that, Hammill is destined to be a championship journeyman.

I think careerwise, Butterfield should have stayed with us another season.

Showcase his talent more then transfer and be a regular in a prem side.

I can see why he went though, ££'s and a prem club offer talk

He still has the potential after a proper pre season with Norwich, especially now they are safe.
However, in my honest opinion I don't think he will ever be good enough to play at the top level. Hope he proves me wrong though.

On the other hand Hammill and Butterfield have done brilliantly..............sat at home collecting what; 3x the wages (?) that they were on at Barnsley, maybe more. They probably dont give a flying foook that they are not playing.

    Its all about MONEY

Its a pity really because if we had the spark that these players brought to the club then Barnsley would be looking very very good for next season

Season long loans at Barnsley!! Flicker will save Hammill's career and JB can raise his profile back to where it was the first time, then see where his football can take him from there. I don't think either of these lads are in a healthy place club-wise, it's clear neither of them are wanted. Bring 'em oooerm!!

Subs: Alnwick, Hassell, McNulty, Dawson, RNL, Dagnall, Scotland

This squad takes us to the play-offs imo.

Not sure about Butterfield wide, but there's plenty of attacking talent in that team.

Don't forget about Jimbo! Hammill on the left for me or even off O'Grady. That has the look of the best midfield in the league and I agree Adam, Jacob, a centre half and a striker could see us challenging the playoffs.

Suppose we wouldn't need McNulty AND Hassell on the bench - Jim could go there. And yeah, Hammill and Butts switching.

Half a season on the bench with medical bills with a club standing by him, the club that took him through their academy and helped make him the player he is OK MATE

..............but this thread just goes to show...............that a few decent signings in the close season and we will have one hell of a team for next season

I don't slag anyone off on twitter. I don't even discuss Jacob on there. I have however, blocked a few youngsters who are yet to grow a pube, who get a little too personal from behind the safety net that is their keyboard.

I see little in this thread to complain about. I know all the facts about the lad, obviously, but I have no issue with people discussing his ability as a footballer. It's the completely baseless accusations about his persona and motives that I defend. Because those doing so, may as well be slagging off a bloke in Cape Town they'll never meet, because they know just as much about him, too.... sweet FA.
