Agreed. Plus I don't see anywhere on that site (from a quick glance) where it tells you who is behind it. I'm saying Fox News.

I'd be quite happy to pay 25p to watch all the Olympics. I don't see how that is a waste of money.

I'm sure the savings are much greater than 24million - in time probably will save billions.

I can't see how they can judge how generous they were / weren't - thats a commercial decision. Compared to bankers bonuses
in the private sector it is clearly fxxk all. If it was privatised a load of fat cats would be creaming off more I can assure you.
Some of the top people are DJs / producers, who by relocating
to Manchester are losing out on a lot of other work they can get in London easily on top of BBC work, so hence
a few will have needed quite a bit to relocate.

Plus isn't it a good thing that part of the BBC's national service is based in the north & not everything down in London?

It's been a long process - the more I listen to him on a morning, the more I'm convinced he's turned into a sneering snob. He plays this 'lad from Rotherham' bit, one of the locals, but he's a bit of a piss taker when interviewing or commenting on normal folks.

Dunno, might be me but I think he's more faces than the town hall clock.

Isn't that just an argument for privatising everything though. For example should people who decide to send their kids to private school be able to opt out of taxation that pays for state schools?

It will never make money, not whilst the employees are spending this sort of cash . Salford is not the place where top celebs will locate to.

I've just looked at the listings for today.

TBH there is very little on the BBC which doesn't equal the lowest common denominator, especially during the day.

Game shows, "reality shows", cooking programs, antiques shows, and soaps. All of which speak to me of filling air time at the cheapest possible cost.

Maybe the BBC should look at quality rather than quantity.

You want to stop reading the Daily Mail is what you want to do.

BBC is one of the great things about this country, the Daily Mail is a disgusting piece of rag, a blight on the country.

I am happy where my money is going.

You sir, are a gullible idiot.

You think that forcing something into the private sector makes it more efficient and better run?

I give you the banks, the energy companies and the mobile/broadband suppliers, a bigger shower of ***** I have never known.

IMHO the £15 we pay each month is the best £15 we spend. It's probably worth it just for the website. It's definitely worth it just for Radio 4. I'd happily pay the £15 if all I got was one series from David Attenborough ever year and episodes of QI. But there's so much more: science shows by Jim Al-Khalili and Brian Cox, medical shows by Michael Mosley, Match of the Day (still the best football show on the box), new drama, new comedy, BBC Four, Radio 5 live, BBC 6 Music, the BBC news, the best political commentary in the country, the best documentaries in the world, Barnsley FC commentaries and manager interviews on Radio Sheffield (the only radio station to offer these), the list goes on and on and on.

I wish I got the same value for money on everything else as I do with the £15 per month I spend on the BBC. If I did I'd be living in a mansion eating lobster every night with a Ferrari in the garage and a yacht in the Bahamas.

    Are you also comfortable

that over the years your money has helped fund an institution that has harboured and thus encouraged predatory paedophiles and rapists?
