Privatise the NHS on that logic then as Jimmy did his business on their premises too...

Oh sorry, it already has been. Silly me.

Don't talk wet. It is up to the Police and CPS to find and prosecute paedophiles and rapists, have a go at them, not the employers of the accused.

    Idiot.

When an institution creates a culture

its about more than just prosecuting individuals, it requires a root and brand investigation. When that institution is a public funded body, directly, by a tax that is legally instructed and protected, its fair for tax payers to question its relevance and legitimacy.

Or are you too stupid and ignorant to realise ?

    Did it?

    Who says it did?

You are believing the lies peddled by the newspaper barons who want the BBC closed down so they can slice up its audience for their own fat profits.

Bet you vote Tory in the hope of earning a few crumbs from the table of your masters.

I heard about a teacher in Barnsley who was a paedo. I think we should close all schools with immediate effect.

    Far from it

Im a staunch Labour Party voter with socialist sympathies. I despise the Tory party for many reasons. Saville and Hall however.....

Re: A school teacher in a school

School teachers tend to be in schools. However, is a company/organisation responsible for the conduct of its employees at all times? Very difficult to police someone when they're outside a studio or on their own time.

As Redstar says, why not blame the NHS for Saville as the majority of his crimes were on their premises.

    £46 a month to fund a **** like Murdoch.

Just what exactly is your point, that the BBC presents amazing value for money and a wide and varied range of broadcasting for all in the UK.

I dont know why Im bothering with this

because you've clearly missed the whole point. We are legally bound to pay £15 a month direct tax for a TV license to funds the BBC, an institution has no accountability to the public purse on how it chooses to spend the money, as wasteful as it might appear (see opening thread) that has been found guilty of creating a culture whereby celebrities, paid by said license fee, can use their position to sexual exploit children (of tax payers) on BBC premises and yet people think its all about 'value for money' and ' keeping it in public hands'.

Im done for now. People are entitled to their own opinions. Internet broadcasting will probably kill the license fee before any bill hits the statute anyway, and I will be fu.ck, ng glad.

But your original post said nothinbg about the child abuse allegations being the basis for your contempt for the BBC. As horrific as these events are, they are 30+ years ago in the main and the BBC is a different organisation in many ways to day. For a start "blind eyes" were often turned to this kind of thing in the past and today, rightly, this does not happen.

See the child abuse scandal that ought to be engulfing the Tory Party, covered up by the 14 Pints Man...

    One last go

I choose to watch SKY. I still have to pay a license fee. If I dont agree with Murdoch, I can cancel my subscription. I dont agree with the funding of the BBC as its a legal obligation to have a license irrespective of whether I watch BBC or disagree with what the money has been spent on and how the public have been treated by people on the BBC payroll. I have to keep paying the tax and let them get on with it. A TV license is an out of date construct, not means tested in any way and if you asked the man in the street if he'd mind a few advert breaks and save £15 a month, you know what the answer would be.

If you're still thinking its about public versus private sector then lets leave it, I cant be arsed.

You can have a fu.cking deadly dog and feed it raw meat without a license, but not a TV!

Based on this thread that is evidently not the case.
