Is it the same as this season's or are we going to show the tiniest trace of ambition? I'm just interested to know before I back the club again.
Fantastic. I don't know the exact terms and conditions of the Stones deal but after that sale, the Davis sale and the cup run there must be some additional funds. There has to be. I'm not saying there's 4.5m quid but there has to be a reasonable amount. I suppose we must be saving it for a rainy day that might never happen. Let's beat the bookies.
Crynes pocket, he's obviously talking ******** about wanting £6 million back if we ever make the Prem.
Could have been Flitcroft playing his cards close to his chest, but given what's been said before about money by those in charge and what has transpired into reality - eg stop up and we have the same budget, ooh sorry actually we need the Butterfield transfer fee to keep the same budget, I view things a tad cynically.
Dont forget that we budgetted at £28 a ticket for matchday/away supporters and then reduced that later in the season, maybe the cup run allowed them to reduce it. Is it possible we have payed some of the loan back to PC? Just have to wait for the balance sheet to get questions answered.
He's unlikely to go telling the world that we have pots of cash to spend, or even a little bit more than usual. As soon as anyone lets that slip, they start getting charged extortionate amounts of money for very average players.
True, he handled the interview with Walker from Radio Let Sheffielders say anything about Barnsley very well. My guess - Delap back, player coach role.
Will you please stop coming up with sensible explanation, keep doing that MT and we won't have anything to whinge abart
They can whinge about how worried they are that there's nothing to worry about, and that surely something has to go wrong soon.
What concerns me is that we supposedly had a 27% drop in income and the only solution the club could come up with was to cut the budget. Did they even look at why the income fell so sharply and try and address this? I can't see any evidence that they did.
Flitcroft alluded to increasing revenue at his conference - think he has a few ideas he'd like the club to look at. Not sure how that fits in with set policy and procedure. Think they had to look up 'increase' in the dictionary.
What's going so well though? We've got the manager we all wanted but there is not much else to be positive about. The club is going in the wrong direction off the field and has been for four years. The manager will suffer because of this. I still think season ticket sales will be down next year which will be a tragedy and a disaster.
If STs are down for next season, the town does not deserve Championship football...The excuses of the moaners are becoming laughable.
I think you make a valid point here IF things are not being done to remedy the disappointing way the commercial side of the club has been run over the last few seasons. However, the impression I got from Flicker's interviews is that this was one of the main issues that Flicker wants to address. Had he not been given the board's word that it would be addressed, then I doubt he would have signed. That's the way I interpreted things anyway.
So you don't think there is the slightest possibility that people have just become disillusioned by the lack of ambition at the club and the constant relegation battles. I know I have. I'm intending to renew again but if I get a beat the bookies letter it's going in the bin.
