Brilliant philopsophy. The whole reason why the club can't back the manager more is due to financial restrictions brought about largely because we have so many stay away fans. If more of our glory fans (I'm not accusing you of being a glory fan by the way) bother to turn up now and again we might be able to give Flicker a better budget to work with. I find it ironic when stay away fans give lack of ambition as their reason for not going although the irony seems lost on them.
What loan? PC underwrote the debts but not by means of loans. The 6m that gets constantly misunderstood, is a clause of sale to any potential purchaser that in the situation that the club was to be promoted to the premier league, Patrick would recoup his investment from the funds that would generate. In other words, pay me back when you've got it. I doubt he will be holding his breath over that.
I understand PC wanting his money back, and it is indeed his own money, but in terms of selling a business ? The business is valued at £1million, but if you buy it, make a success of it, I'll have another £6mill off you thanks. Not saying anything against it but seems a bit odd.
Not at all odd...simply asking for a return on a business that would not be there had he not pumped that 6m in.
I've got a good idea, lets spend what we haven't got got.Bristol City tried this method and ended up relegated and 40m in debt.
What's it worth ? That's the price. You can't (normally) extract more money from someone for making a success of a business you sell them.
I'll be renewing. I'm just sounding off a bit before I do. My concerns are genuine and valid. Surely no one can honestly think the club is being run to its full potential? I find that very frustrating and so must a lot of others, hence the year on year fall in ST sales. Sometimes loyalty alone is not enough to get people to part with nigh on 350 quid.
Ironic thing is imho Flicker's relayed to the board by and large the concerns that the so called 'moaners' on here have had for a while.
How do you know that this season we will be in a relegation battle. How do you know that some of the funds from the sales of Stones and Davies won't be used to strengthen the squad. Its all well and good asking paddy Cryne to dip in his pocket and back the reds, when you won't do it yourself? The current season is barely over and you've began with your usual pre season negativity already. You almost gad your chance to say I told you so this year, almost.
I have the same concerns but I do have some sympathy with those trying to run the club and compete at this level on a shoe-string. I dont think we're too far away from being a decent club and now we have Flicker and his team tied down we need some of the stay-aways to return or we're just going to keep on treading water. Yes the board have to do their bit and maximise on any potential revenue but equally (perhaps more so) the fans have to do their bit too and on the evidence of last season they're not going to.
Thing is, a successful relegation battle will not bring back the stay aways. At best you'll hang on to those who were considering packing it in.
The fight, spirit and togetherness shown in the second half of the season should be enough for many stay away fans to come back, if they genuinely wanted to. Progression on the pitch is linked to progression off it and we need as many people as possible coming back through the turnstiles.
That's the point though mate, with what flicker as said it looks like he's trying to address the concerns we have but some people are still whinging about it, surely it's best to give him and the club a little more time to sort out the issues, the season only ended 2 weeks ago,
