How are they meant to finance it, particularly if it's just a trial? So the cost to take out the seating as it is and alter the terracing to be suitable for standing, and then if the trial is deemed unsuccessful to put if all back as it was. Easiest place for them to so it at Oakwell will be the West Stand lower tier
West Lower could be turned into terracing within a week. If the approval was granted. The people who sit there could easily be accommodated in the East Lower or West Upper. Priced correctly, it'd probably be full every week. Its a no brainer. Which is why it wont happen.
Re: West Lower I reckon we could dedicate a full section to the 'arms folded for 95 minutes' crew, like the opposite to the Poznan.
Re: West Lower Abject refusal to cheer or applaud. Just turn round and leave at full time irrespective of result. The stern section.
the safe standing option isn't going to turn it back to terracing. i believe its a seated arrangment where the seat folds away upright and you stand in place of the seat in your allocated spot with a rail in front of you, with the rail to stop you going forwards. i think the trust website may have had an article with pictures etc of a proposed design
Re: West Lower Hehe. We might be racist in the Ponty, and the East Stand are in God's waiting room the boring negative *******, but the West Stand are always angry, on the cusp of violence.
Re: West Lower Folk stand anyway at the back of stands and self police it (with those whose mope in their seats being somewhat encouraged to head down the front out of the way). Can't see any benefits. Unless they made it unreserved 'seating' which I'd not fancy
the corner between the Ponty and the west stand could be used too That would actually add to the capacity, I know that taking out seating ups the capacity. But that corner is unused so why not.
Re: the corner between the Ponty and the west stand could be used too Would fit 200 seats so that's 300 stood?
Re: the corner between the Ponty and the west stand could be used too I don't think that's regarded as 'safe'.
Re: why not I don't think the stand is unsafe, I just think they wouldn't be allowed to cram an extra 100 people in. I think the 'standers' would get a seat anyway for before the match and half time.
I do not think you understand where I am on about Mate the unused corner under the floodlight. It used to be terraced.
