having been in the army 24 years I was totally sick to the stomach to witness what happened in London yesterday, and being from Barnsley it would be quite easy for people to stereotype and expect me to slate mr Cameron I am neither tory, lib or labour, I have views on certain parties policies but I think each and every one of them are muppetts who are out to feather there own nests, but like the vast majority of service men/ woman our anger is aimed directly at Blair, I can hear people on here saying " how dare you" well after 6 tours in northern Ireland, Iraq and afghan I think I am deserving of having MY opinion, is immigration policy as totally destroyed a lot of our culture and herritage he broke his neck to bring in the human rights act, his wife as made millions and we cant deport terrorists, that bloke IN MY OPINION, started the taking apart of our once great country, RIP fellow brother
32 years Royal Air Force me... I totally echo your sentiments Sir Respect to you and ALL our brothers in arms. Past and Present. Some seem to forget the sacrifices many made in wars throughout history so that we "can have our tomorrows" its a shame the Police officers did not shoot to kill yesterday....I would have. Notice the cowards did the attack away from the Barrack gates.. where armed guards would have been, that attack was in their remit on the "Green Card" to have shot both terrorists dead.
but did not Saddam gas the chi'ites Shi'ites (spelling) I was of the understanding he used Sarin on them. That is arguably a WMD. But hey that's me nit picking, sorry. I totally agree with you on the whole Mate.
Blair, along with Bush Sr. and his pillock of a son, have also bombed the fck out of communities in Iraq and Afghanistan now for years killing thousands of innocent people. All in the name of Democracy and yes don't forget, God. We have created our own enemy, as Franco and Hitler created theirs. If someone indiscriminately bombed my town and killed my friends and family, I would go and fight the basterds too. I have total respect and admiration for our armed forces and emergency services and was enormously saddened by that young man's death yesterday. But I find the indiscriminate loss of life in this 'War on terror' as equally distressing. Those two young men who committed that savage murder yesterday are not terrorists. They are stupid, vulnerable idiots, who have bought into a hateful doctrine that we are partly responsible for creating. They have allowed themselves to be turned into a weapon of hate and have wrecked their own lives as well as that of that poor soldier and his family. I'm glad they survived and will have to stand trial for this sickening crime.
Completely right and Blair has to look to himself, when we lay the blame for that poor lad's death yesterday.
agree a lot with you ...however I still wish the Police had shot to kill. They will not face the death sentence which mad dogs like them should do.
Re: agree a lot with you ...however That makes martyrs of them in many eyes. I want to see them in court crying like babies in remorse for what they have done. Which they will, once their heads clear.
Re: agree a lot with you ...however Death is what they want as they believe this wil make them martyrs. See how they feel after a life time in jail. Having the death penalty would not have stopped this act.
These two had to be taken alive, just like the kid in the US, so that they can be questioned, to find out the extent of their organisation.
This is a brilliant scene from Charlie Wilson's War. Decent film if you haven't seen it. Tom Hanks plays the congressman who secured the finances to arm the Afghan rebels in their fight with the Soviet Union, Phillip Seymour Hoffman plays the CIA agent who came up with the strategy and gets it done. This it at the party celebrating the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Plus the hundreds being butchered every week in Iraq. The atrocities are so commonplace our media barely report on it. We've left it in a far worse state than Sadam had it!!
Re: agree a lot with you ...however hmmm I have to concur to that point from you two, and as Bob.T sez maybe if interrogated they can reveal a good deal of their organisation. Then after that ...Guantanamo Bay perhaps.
Correct. But let's not let logic get in the way of the smell of revenge and blood... As hard as it sometimes may seem, being civilised comes with hard choices.
I served in the Army too and I was utterly appalled, sick to my stomach, by what happened yesterday but to aim your anger at Blair for the murder is wrong and I am in no way defending Blair. No immigration policy or foreign policy can be used as a smokescreen to deflect the utter evil and barbaric events away from the those who carried out the murder in the name of Islam. I totally agree with you on immigration by the way, I believe that a lot of our culture has been destroyed or diluted but I could never allow this to be used as reason for the horrific actions seen in London yesterday. That was blood-thirsty, evil and cowardly actions by a couple of repugnant and evil nutters.
