We could support Benfica. In 15 days they've gone from aiming to win the treble to winning absolutely nothing. If they'd beat Porto on the last day of the season they'd have won the league, before losing to Chelsea in the Europa League Final and then the Portuguese Final against Guimaraes.

    11 May: Porto 2-1 Benfica
    15 May: Benfica 1-2 Chelsea
    26 May: Benfica 1-2 Guimaraes

    I feel their hurt.

United in 1987 lost the Scottish Cup to St mirren then proceded to lose the UEFA Cup to Gothenburg all within 4 days.
    Gutted!

Unfortunately mate those days will never return.
I can only live with the memories and thank god that I lived to witness it all.

Oh for those good old days.

If you mean United players then Davie Narey, Paul Sturrock, Eammon Bannon, Ralph Milne, Hamish McAlpine all immediately spring to mind.
Others who gave me great pleasure Willie Pettigrew, Richard Gough, Greame Payne, Raymond Stewart, Andy Gray, and so the list goes on.
The great players who have passed through Tannandice makes great reading and all thanks to the Greatness of the one and only Jim McLean.

Wow some great players on there, younger fans wont realise how good Dundee United were at one time or how good Sturrock was, Andy Gray was a brilliant centre forward tho not very tall.

Maurice Malpas was my favourite. Always used to buy him on football manager. When it took ten mins to load off a cassette.
