All three have had/have plenty of faults in their careers, hes paid to form an opinion. Next. Youve ignored every fact, acted a lovely person and carried on. Dont look out the curtains the men with white coats are there.

Possibly Steyn/Morkel/Philander is the closest at the moment, although Anderson/Broad/Finn/Swann aren't that far behind. Times have moved on and the bowling line-ups are more balanced than previously and offer different types of bowling instead of the same from both ends. Although Australia with Warne/McGrath were probably the best bowling combination of all time.

The Aussies are bigging their attack up at the moment.

Starc patterson harris and they are trying to get this spinner in.

There happy with this attack apparently.
Read some opinions down there they think it's the best attack in the world. They coursed a very good South African bats men problems.

The current Aussie attack isn't in the top three in the world, and would struggle for top five at the moment. They just aren't as good at the moment as SA, England, SL, India, Pakistan or WI (in terms of bowlers). They are bigging up for the Ashes, but they could well struggle.

I'm not sure. Saw limited footage of there series against SA.

Waugh reckons they will take 20 wickets.

Agree about the variety making it more difficult in some ways (certainly Warne / McGrath), but to compare any of the current line-ups favourably to the West Indian and Australian attacks of the late 70s / early 80s is very generous, IMO. While I certainly admire Cook, I just wonder if he really could have put up with 100mph bombardment and intimidation from both ends for 90 overs a day, like Gooch, Boycott et al did.

Just had a look and most of the recorded fastest balls are in one day matches.
Theres a video in youtube of Shaun tait bowling in England in about 2007 and Struss' partner just pushes it for a one.

    Pace isn't everything

Pace, aggression and longer run ups than anyone uses nowadays, (from the rope) Full on intimidation delivered ball after ball, over after over, from blokes well over six foot tall. My guess is that any cricketer who has witnessed Marshall, Garner, Roberts etc. at full tilt, would would tell you there has been nothing to match it for intimidation.

Come on Fired, how tall should the bowlers be. AVG 6.5/6 not enough.

I'm guessing you've never seen the over by Michael Holding to Geoff Boycott? Not something Chris Tremlett could muster.
