So Flicker has said he wants to manage, not just the team but the football club as well. People will have their opinion on that, I have mine but does anyone think this Watkins thing will have any bearing on that? Surely the Chairman runs the football club / calls the shots / cracks the whip etc. Does anyone think this leaves Flicker in a different position (again) to what he was last week? Or perhaps this was all part of Flicker's 'new era'?
He wears his heart in his sleeve, and I'd like to think that the 'assurances' he sought, discussed things like this. There's clearly no way he can or should, manage off field affairs. Although I'm sure his vision and passion will influence strategic decision making. Cryne is now stepping up and doing what an owner should: getting a proper org structure in place, alongside a mgmt team that the fans are 100% behind. Exciting days ahead
Flicker will have known about Maurice Watkin's appointment. That's probably why he has openly commented about improving our off-the-field activities, because he knows we can now deliver on these things.
